In a case where one is both director and producer, who would normally resume the producer roll during photography?

Preproduction SUCKS!!!!I'm in prepro right now and I honestly had no idea how much it involved. My situation is even worse because I'm dealing with overseas (filming in Africa in the fall).

For instance, three characters in a scene - you shoot the master and three close up shots of your characters - you end up with four shots of one scene.
