    Unique Tricks and Fixes

I had a character who was taking a lot of pills in my film and the Tic-Tacs(!) were really loud in the yellow prescription container. We put some cotton wool inside and it really lessened the noise.

    Unique Tricks and Fixes

I had to shoot a scene inside a house at night, when it was supposed to be daytime. I closed a blind in the background of the scene and had someone go out side the house and shine a light on the window. Inside the house, around the edges of the blind, it looked like it was daylight outside.

cinematography Advice On Shooting Time Lapse Video

Of course, this method never occurred to me at all and I thank you for the reply and suggestion. I actually have a filmmaker friend with a green screen and the experience of using it. I just had a chat with him and he has agreed to help me out with the scene. I will show him your reply. Any...

Thanks. Beautiful video. I forgot to mention that the video camera I will be using shoots 60fps and has manual controls.

cinematography Advice On Shooting Time Lapse Video

Hi, I would like to shoot a scene in a busy bar where a person sits at a table nursing a beer at normal speed, while all the other patrons and staff are moving at super speed around the person. I'm thinking there are probably lot's of things to consider and I would really grateful if someone...

Another millionaire asking for money on KickStarter

That kinda thing is going to kill crowdfunding for poor people. IMO.

Movie making. The basics as I currently understand them.

I had someone working with me on a shoot and we had a terrible fight in front of the cast and crew. I totally regretted it, but it boiled down to him not having eaten anything that morning. I had to give him money and send him to Qdoba. When he got back he was fine and we apologized to each...

Movie making. The basics as I currently understand them.

Thanks, it can be a lonely and unsympathetic business being in charge of a film's production. I'm just not going to ever assume or take the chance that because someone is really good at one thing, they will be good at another thing. I don't think I would work with a photographer, just...

    Website question

The Admin can change your username in the admin panel, but it's not something I imagine them wanting to get into the habit of doing. If I were you i would become a premium member and add a signature that states something along the lines that you are formerly fwilly and you could make it link to...

Movie making. The basics as I currently understand them.

For one of my projects I picked a guy to be a cameraman because he is a brilliant artist. He can draw and paint amazing pictures... Let me tell you, a talent like that does not always transfer to being a cameraman.

    2014 Oscars

I own Kieslowski's Dekalog on DVD and my first feature is about effed up unhappy people pretending to be something they are not. Insufferably miserable is my thing.

    2014 Oscars

I dunno, I watched While You Were Sleeping a couple of weeks ago and it looked and felt like the same Sandra Bullock. Let's agree to disagree. I haven't seen Blue Jasmine yet, but really want to. I have a feeling it's going to be good.

    2014 Oscars

I hope Gravity doesn't win anything other than technical. Nothing against anyone, but I just felt it was Sandra Bullock and George Clooney in space. Playing themselves, as if they were in space. I really wish they had used unknown actors. IMO.

    How can I practice editing?

Rip a dvd of movie to your hard drive and edit that. I did it with a couple of films before I had a camera. If you don't have any decent editing software, you can convert a dvd to avi and edit the video in Avidemux and the audio in Audacity. It's crude, but a good place to start.
