editing The Raid: Redemption, Camera Motion Added Digitally?

Oh cool, you watched The Raid haha. Most of the stuff can be achieved in camera. The few noticeable edits that I can tell are the obvious blood splatters and gunshots, but they also did a few frame cutting here and there just to speed up the action a tad bit. It's not unusual to do multiple...

archived-videos Better Homes and Vlllains (Four Points Film Project - Best Camera Move Award)

I'm a firm believer of working with what you have, but we never had a steadicam of any sorts, so getting the DJI Osmo has opened up a whole new world for us. Especially now that the DJI is practically a mini Ronin. Sucks in low light, but it is an amazing alternative. It's also cool seeing old...

archived-videos Better Homes and Vlllains (Four Points Film Project - Best Camera Move Award)

The idea came from The Raid 2's car chase Ours, however, was no where near as complicated. We just invested money in a DJI Osmo+ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tzqL4DSIUvg All we did was pass the camera to the backseat actor, and then passed it to another person afterwards.

editing Best way to get good green screen effect?

If you showed me just a screenshot, I would've never guessed it was a green screen. I would've been fooled by the wide shot. The mid shot, yes, looks more green screen but that's more has to do with the placement of the cars.

How to get the 2:35 Aspect Ratio?

If you don't want permanently write on your screen. Did you know that many old movies were actually shot in 4:3 but framed for 16:9? The same can apply to the other ratios... just remember that your story should still be engaging.

State park, no permit: busted after film release?

I've shot "gorilla" at a park for a National Monument and some people called park security on us because we were doing a fight scene along a cliff side. The security came up to us and gave us a fair warning and said we would normally need a permit. He let us finish our scene since he saw a...

When do you decide that enough is enough?

I wasn't active on this forum at that time but, damn, 2005 was when I graduated high school and when my group started getting really active in the indy stunt community. We were still using a Sony Handycam Hi8. We then graduated to a Panasonic DVX100b in 2008. Now we're using a Canon 60D DSLR...

Simulated running over body -shot is from Driver's POV

I've used a speed bump. 10:19 https://youtu.be/SLXZARGimm4?t=10m19s Obviously not exactly what you're going for, but selling from the actress, camerawork, and sound are key. I don't know what you're capabilities are in terms of mounting a camera, but you can still do the speed bump version...

How did they shoot this fight sequence?

Pretty easy to shoot that sequence. Shooting most fight scenes follow the same structure. Break it up into parts. Shoot a sequence from a certain angle, and then again from another if you plan on cross cutting. Shoot insert shots when necessary. The main trick is to begin your next angle with...

    Preparation before Rehearsal

Rehearsal obviously prepares, but it also depends on the actor and how good they are at saying their lines. Most of the time we'll give the our actors the script beforehand and then we'll rehearse on the spot and shoot when ready.

Need advice on film editing workflow

Are FCP projects still importable to Premiere? You can probably do the chunk in FCP and then import the project into PR and go from there.
