What' the minimum spec requirement for pc to edit hd videos?

It is a file format/codec, that doesn't need much performance, but still offers good image quality. So you can edit on older computers without the loss of quality.

What' the minimum spec requirement for pc to edit hd videos?

You are right, I totally forgot Cineform! Haven't tried it myself, but a lot people use it and are happy with it. You can try it and then buy it if you want. 129 US$ is not that much, if you compare it with a new PC or laptop.

movies What's the last film you watched? And rate it!

I saw parts of it years ago on TV. Seemed to be interesting, I need to see the whole movie. I watched "Shinjuku Incident" two days ago. A dark, serious thriller with Jackie Chan, who is not showing his "fun-kung-fu". Although he is not the greatest actor in the world, I think he did a good job...

What' the minimum spec requirement for pc to edit hd videos?

I am working on a quadcore, don't know the exact name right now. For Sony Vegas, I use a script called "Proxy Stream". It converts the clips into lower quality/lower compression files (you can define the quality/compression), which are used for editing. When you want to render into full quality...

How realistic should a super dark thriller be?

Maybe some CGI-Models. If you don't show them too long and too close, it could work. Or find a way to film a helicopter in the sky. Just some neutral footage, that can be put into the movie. Then you just add the choppers sound and the pilots voice (something like "we lost them" or whatever)...

    Adapted Screenplays, are they accurate?

I heard Stephen King did not like the Kubrick version, but another one (TV-Movie?). But regarding that King is not a filmmaker, I don't know how to interpret that point of view. In my opinion, "American Psycho" was a really good film containing the essence of the book. Of course there were some...

    filmmaking and real world

That's what I do. When I am at work doing some routine things that I don't need to think much about, then my story is build up in my mind. I think about how it can go on, problems that need to be solved and maybe some pieces of dialogue. Sometimes I write down little notes about important...

What was the last film you actually paid to see in theater and enjoyed?

It's starting this week here in Germany and I really look forward to see it. Simon Pegg and Nick Frost are a cool team, so this movie should be fun. The last movie I paid for and really enjoyed was "The kings speech". But I must confess that I missed a lot this year...

    Just A Young Girl

Hi "neighbour" I think you really have a talent and a good feeling for camera work and editing. Well, I am not an expert for music videos (don't watch them often), but in my opinion you catched the style of them. Three things that came in my mind on your up-beat video: - there could be...

    How to do good choreography.

They where stuntmen, who know what they do. And I think when so much people are involved, you can hide some hits, so you actually do not see they are missing the other one. One knife was not a "complete" prop, the blade was digital. Remember that even trained stunt people get hurt sometimes, no...

Question about casting the right actress for the role.

I think that's the right attitude! Casting a "generally called attractive woman" would be what you always see in Hollywoods Mainstream movies. Make something different, a clever, intelligent, manipulating female psycho. As superamazing already said "maybe she seduces people with wit more than...

    For All Zombie Lovers

Well, I think the story of "The Happening" is almost the same idea. People lose control over their actions, move about a specific distance and kill themselfs. I think you could make an interesting film about that spores or something similar. M. Night Shyamalan failed, but someone else could...:D

Does and Don't of Short Films?

I agree, but on the other hand comedy is also very difficult. Everyone has another sense of humour, so not every one will laugh about the movie. But of course drama is very hard, especially for the actors and the director. Maybe some kind of thriller/suspense or gangster movie (Reservoir Dogs)...

    Hello from Germany

Hi there, as I have already posted a bit on this great board, I should introduce myself ;) As the title says, I am from (north) Germany. There is a german filmmaking board, where most "experts" tell you to buy equipment most users can't afford and where the technical aspects are most...

    Coverall Greenscreen Suits

As far as I know, the "Predator" effect was done this way. You remember, the scenes where the Predator is in stealth mode... They even tried to get some footage of the Predator jumping from tree to tree, using a monkey in a red suit. But the monkey always took off the suit

Insane trailers - Gotta catch 'em all!

It could be a way of finding out whether an idea is good or not. Think of "Machete" or "Hobo with a shotgun"...
