So Many Threads, So Little Time

I'd pay money to never see this ;) Also, your website has no link to an IGG page to critique. I feel like this is clickbait. So in return, I'll respond with my thoughts, if this ever does see the light of day, enjoy your death threats cause there will be many.

    Lighting Kit: Opiniouns / Suggestions

Horrible investment. Lights are something you'd normally want to rent, not buy.

on Kickstarter can a perk amount exceed your goal?

Just for clarification... By thought, you're using Kickstarter, making you a failure for not being able to raise the money a more traditional way. You're most likely unable to find a producer that believes in you and your project, so your only option is to use Kickstarter. By the way, a...

No one has a professional idea?

I think 90+ is standard. (Don't quote me... I'm certainly not big into screenwriting at all)

Finished "Film" and Business School - Got questions?

Hmmm maybe I should try to be more exact then... I have a lawyer who can answer this, but thought I'd ask since you say you have a degree haha... so I don't sound silly later when I do ask my lawyer XD I have an LLC on a game studio that designs and publishes tabletop games (it has employees...

When do you know 'your ready'

Shorts can't teach you all the hurdles of filmmaking. A hundred shorts and you'll never run into the same challenges as you will on your first feature.

on Kickstarter can a perk amount exceed your goal?

Not a different story. Producer credits are handed out like candy on crowdfunding. For 8 grand I could go pick 16 projects to be a producer on, if not more. Hell, half of them will most likely turn out pretty damn good as well. --- At this point I'm a bit confused. You're so stubborn in your...

on Kickstarter can a perk amount exceed your goal?

Correct.... but know people aren't going to pledge solely on the fact you have that one time perk. They'll see you as unrealistic. If you won't take my word for it, please follow this link and ask the thousands of people who have had multiple successful projects...

on Kickstarter can a perk amount exceed your goal?

Oh okay. Originally that was the rule for all crowdfunding sites. This seems to be one that changed in that last large update. https://www.kickstarter.com/help/faq/creator+questions?ref=faq_livesearch#faq_62961 The maximum reward amount is now linked to what location you are from. If within...

on Kickstarter can a perk amount exceed your goal?

No. A perk cannot exceed your goal. And unless your goal is really low, it'd be unreasonable to even make one so high. It could even be a downfall to have a lot of really high priced perks, it could show you didn't spend much time researching KickStarter.

Complete newbie - question about film hosting

I've never even heard of Power Director... stick to learning Sony Vegas, but eventually you'll need to graduate from that to an intermediate software like Premier & After-Effects. Sony Vegas is a great platform to build your early skills on though.

editing Colour correction before or after LUT? Premeire Pro CC

Oh? I thought that was the entire point of Cinestyle? Was to get a more LOG-like image? In post, an indie will still most likely slap 709 back onto it, having gained nothing from using Cinestyle.

    Covering up those walls!

No, you asked a "how long is a piece of string" question. The answer you got was best fitted for that. Set design relies on your story and characters. You can't just say "Hey guys, I have some white walls, what kinds of things can I fill them with?" You need to break down the kind of people...

    Covering up those walls!

I see there is no point in trying to convince you the value of production design then. You might as well just use a white blank wall, after all if your story and whatnot is great, then the short will be great no matter what is on the wall apparently. Continue on the one-man filmmaker route and...

    Covering up those walls!

Okay sfoster. Here, you want to know films that would have been horrible without production designers? http://www.imdb.com/chart/top Every single film on that list had a production designer. Every single film on that list was smart enough to know that a film with bad set design would have...

Indeed. And two things I notice first about an indie. Sound and Set Design.

    Covering up those walls!

You realize that's impossible, right? The film would have had to been made twice, once with a production designer and one without to point it out for you. I can point out The Grand Budapest Hotel that was perhaps the most recently acknowledged masterpiece set. How many indie films have you...
