Best way to mount camera on a vehicle (limited budget)?

Yes... my ratchet strap suggestion is extremely DIY and risky. However... I feel you get what you pay for in this kind of situation. If you want to pay little (I assume he owns a mounting plate and ratchets are cheap), you're taking an obvious risk. I wouldn't assume someone would put a RED on...

lighting what is the best way to light a really dark scene.

black foam core... Do you actually have that? I've never thought of using that as flags. You can actually make flags (and nets for that matter) very cheaply with just stuff from Home Depot. Granted... if you have black foam core that works too.

editing HTML5 web decoding and playback - what codec and colorspace? please help

Actually, your consumer monitor most likely shows you the Adobe RGB 1998 colorspace. Which is 40% wider than sRGB. Particularly in the cyan to green area of the CIE. (Although I haven't owned a consumer monitor in awhile... Adobe RGB 1998 is still the standard consumer ICC, right?) ----...

Why do indie filmmakers usually stay away from true story films?

The moment you realize IT removed the Members List... I think there are more... I've seen Toronto quite a few times... I think Vancouver once...

Why do indie filmmakers usually stay away from true story films?

Just read through this entire thread to catch up on this whole argument thing.... This was my favorite line from it all. ------- Also... as much as I'd support a second chance on anyone... I highly doubt he'll change from this temp ban, he's most likely counting down the days until he can...

Best way to mount camera on a vehicle (limited budget)?

ratchet strap. Take a mount plate, for the mounting screw, make a hole in the ratchet strap, put the screw through the ratchet strap and into the mount plate. Then you can put the camera onto the plate, and tighten the shit out of it onto the hood.

editing HTML5 web decoding and playback - what codec and colorspace? please help

When grading for DVD, Blu-Ray, Projection, etc (NOT ONLINE) I grade in Rec709. When grading for YouTube, Vimeo, or other online media sites I grade in Rec709 with my monitor set to sRGB. Here, let me break it down as simple as I possibly can. You grade in Rec709, you then have Rec709...

editing HTML5 web decoding and playback - what codec and colorspace? please help

Actually, all internet content is displayed in sRGB. If you upload a video in Rec709, it then has sRGB affecting it (as it is online). If you upload a video in sRGB, it has nothing affecting it. Rec709 looks different online than it normally does, but it is not a full conversion of the...

    New Call Sheets Software

He put it in Classified Ads > Promotion, I'd say this was a pretty okay post haha. Kinda feel like you went out of your way to check that information on a promotion user just to say this. Anyways, about the product. Call Sheets are a standard. Unions use them to prove your active status and...

    Starting your Crowdfunding Project

What you need are Letters of Intent. Contact them with your pitch, send them the script or a single page, whatever they'd like then if they would be willing to work on it (if it were funded) ask they provide you with a Letter of Intent. This says they'll work on the film if the funding comes...

    How to approach Production Crew

I worked at a production company before going to film school (I was an office assistant, occasional stage hand), for us all people did was call us though our normal contact numbers (sometimes email) and ask about what we had available for what costs. From there we'd go on to looking at their...

    Fair producer's percentage

Ah! You edited haha... Well legally if you're going the crowdfunding route you can't offer points to backers through websites like Kickstarter or IndieGoGo. However if he has fans he know have heavy pockets, he could bring them to a meeting with you and they can become actual Executive...

    Fair producer's percentage

I didn't say that at all. All I did was respond to the information I was given. I do not know any information you don't provide me with. I was provided the following information: Actor's fans want to fund film. Actor wants producer credit. ------------------------ If you spent 40,000$...

    Fair producer's percentage

I see filmmaking as a "no risk - no gain" situation. Why should someone who takes the entire risk only get partial reward? Give him an Executive Producer's credit, as he's the funding source. Then give him a majority percentage of the project. Think about your career in a long term, this...
