So how exactly was the $8000 budget allocated? Shake alone is like $3000, and I'm sure all the plug-ins plus other neccessary programs(FCP, PS) added up another few thousand. Was the software & hardware not included in the budget? Was $8000 just the shooting budget?

Congrats to all and thanks for making it difficult to judge. No really, thanks! It was very very hard to pick one clear cut winner. I think the major difficulty had to do with the many genres that were entered. I vote for the next competition to have one category.

Tom's Hardware next step-by-step guide should be "How to make your overhead projector blend in with your living room decor." Honestly, if I had an extra $300 and a woman that was willing to live with a overhead projector in the living room, I'd probably give this a go.

Ditto to that. I can't remember one complete screenplay I've read other than friend's screenplays. Most of the time, if I ever look at one, it's just to see how one scene played out vs. how it was written.
