Anamorphic - Bang for the Buck?

Yes, some scenes looks much better than others. But I would point the reason as: is hard to make it work. I'm having difficult to speak it in english, but when you find the frame, the anamorphic brings a very strong feeling to the object. This park bench is just a bench, but it appears like an...

Anamorphic - Bang for the Buck?

Dude, I finally got my Isco 2x, and as you asked to back to show some work, here I am. This is my first video with Ana. Very hard to use. This is an optical language completly different from anything you can imagine, from anything you have used before. Without an external monitor which shows...

    Missing .mov codec on PC

On Windows, if you uninstall the Quicktime and then install the "quicktime alternative", probably you will be able to edit any .mov files.

How do I make my actors look naked?

I directed a job containing a fast scene with a nude male. The art director used an underwear with the skin tone, and I made a "clone correction" with After Effects. But it was not frontal nudity. At 0:12 : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QXxt1DNWCR4&hd=1

    YouTube Success

Talking about the film, I think you missed out some important points to inspire people to watch and share your work. First, once I read the synopsis I did know the entire movie. There is no surprise or undiscovered things. The short film is a very special kind of story. It's a tale which needs...

editing Question about using After Effects.

Nothing wrong, dude. It's normal. Lossless (uncompressed) .avi 1080p footage are THAT hard to playback. What you have to do is import it to your NLE software and render it to the final video format that you will use.

    VHS static plugins?

Just a suggestion: maybe you can buy a functional VHS recorder on ebay (very cheap), and a video card with TV output. So you can print your footage to a VHS tape, and capture it with the natural look. And you can repeat the process until you get the degradation level that you want.

    Canon EF 50mm F1.8 II

Mile, I never used it on a t3i. But I have a friend who is a DOP, and agree that this lens is precious. But I recommend you to watch videos on vimeo, searching for "sigma 30mm 1.4 + the camera you want to know", and look if it is good to your purposes.

Help! I Failed HORRIBLY. What kind of Lens Can Achieve this Look?

Can you show a link for your work? Could be useful to see what you think is failing. Maybe the "blurry" is just a wrong framerate. Just a point: the skin of this guys on the video you posted is almost pure white. It's probably the result of a overexposure with a middle-fast lens.

    Canon EF 50mm F1.8 II

Not a good macro, Mile. It's 40cm as minimum distance. I use a rare Olympus mount in a GH2. But I started to look for this lens after watch some Canon footage. In my opinion, this lens is absolutely magical. This is the word I have for. But it is a little expensive, yes. Answering your question...

    Canon EF 50mm F1.8 II

I don't have experience with this one you mentioned, but I recently won an ebay auction for Sigma 30mm 1.4 $325, which in my opinion is awesome not only for low light, but for everything.

    Camera or Car??

How about a cheaper camera? A lot of people shoot very decent weddings using DSLR's. So you can save money for the car.

    cinematography Saturated blue sky

In this video ( https://vimeo.com/54353927 ) at 01:09, we can see a very blue sky. Assuming it's not a color grading work, what kind of lens filter or camera settings do I need to get this blue? Thank you.
