REMAKES??? AGAIN? I MEAN, AGAIN, AGAIN?!!

Not sure if you are joking or not and I'm going to suspect not. It's really sad that distribution companies has taken a term such as independent and made it their own. I mean, is a 20 million dollar film really an independent? Heck, is a 5 million dollar movie an independent? I would say...

REMAKES??? AGAIN? I MEAN, AGAIN, AGAIN?!!

I have to admit, I've always felt the same way. With the lay of the land with distribution companies and theatres shaking hands for their business deals will make this tough, but I like the way you think 2001P.

REMAKES??? AGAIN? I MEAN, AGAIN, AGAIN?!!

The state of affair in Hollywood as of 2010 and most likely far beyond. The truth is, for original ideas coming from writers who are unknown is going to be harder then ever and will not change soon. Studios have shut the doors for a new way they buy material and it's harder to squeeze through...

    FireBug - 4 pages - Feedback

I'm always up for a darker story and the cigarette would do it. :D But I was thinking an ending of redemption. Show the older man from behind and never see the front of him at the beginning. Then at the end we can see him from the front and he wears a fire department t-shirt which shows...

    FireBug - 4 pages - Feedback

Interesting little short, not really a story to say but a memory of what was in someone's life. No character arch from what I can tell. Does this story need one? No, not really but it might get me into the character a bit more. Now since I was a kid who loved forts and even dig one once, I...

    FireBug - 4 pages - Feedback

First paragraph is one sentence, one full sentence that takes up 3 lines on the page and then looking down the page you have another paragraph which is seven lines long. I will have to admit, I do not like what I'm seeing thus far. Now since it's only a few pages I will give it a read for ya...

Which is a good thing. I think this was good, goofy fun.

    archived-videos THE CONTINGENCY PLAN - 4 minute pyro/comedy

Neat little movie. Looks like it would have been a lot of fun on the set and the F/X looks good. The TV looses one of the bullet holes before you cut to the next scene. Shots were okay and everything looked okay for this short. Sound seemed fine. Story was fine. Keep up the good work.

    ZOMBIES ZOMBIES ZOMBIES

I wish that you were joking but I have a feeling that you're not. So please let me ask, what characters in film constitute them to be "horror characters"? Here is a small list of films with in the 25 years which characters seemed to be cared about by the audience. Evil Dead II The Others...

    ZOMBIES ZOMBIES ZOMBIES

I suspect you only saw the remake version of Dawn of the Dead. For sure! The sad part is they will probably remake that one too and its style is what made it great.

    ZOMBIES ZOMBIES ZOMBIES

    1. Night of the Living Dead (original) 2. Dawn of the Dead (original) 3. Re-Animator 4. Return of the Living Dead 5. Shaun of the Dead 6. Day of the Dead (I don't think they made a remake, yet) 7. Zombie 8. The Serpent and the Rainbow 9. Nosferatu 10. Burial Ground Wow, I can't believe this...

    flashbacks

Just don't use them, remove them all. Not to say some films don't use flashbacks but when good films use them it IS part of the story. Example - Forrest Gump. In 99% of screenplays using a flashbacks it is usually unneeded and only ruins the story. Please allow me to explain, you have a...

What are your opinions about using the terms: We See or We Hear, CUT TO, ANGLE ETC,

When reading this bit of information I can only wonder if you are speaking about something else then what others are telling you. I'm think you are speaking about the reader as anyone who will read your script from little Johnny next door, to mom sitting at the dinner table and to Fred down at...

archived-videos Till Death... Short film shot on 5D

And I was agreeing with you. BUT......................... I just got a kick in the head and totally forgot this little bit a friend reminded me of. Boy it's been years since I studied film in a classroom and this short is going to make me read up on old techniques in filmmaking! He (and...

archived-videos Quickly, Go. - short film shot on 7D in Korea

Let me explain myself a bit more. Your character seemed comfortable and seemed to have knowledge of his surroundings. He was not a fish out of water. He stands at a bus stop waiting for a local bus (in Korea), He spoke and understood the language, He knew his way around in the subway, etc. I...

archived-videos Till Death... Short film shot on 5D

The funny thing is, each one you made comments about never used a rack focus. It was always blurry and then someone walked into the scene blurred (or started blurred and walked into focus). A true rack focus through the lens would have been factastic in this scene where he was is the kitchen...

archived-videos The Violinist - DVX100B with SGBLADE and Nikon 50mm

Quick and to the point. - One line of dialogue was not needed at all. You never needed him to say anything about breaking up. Without it we all could have figured out what was going on anyway. Which in a sense is a good thing because everything thing was effective up to that point. Once...

archived-videos Till Death... Short film shot on 5D

Spoiler for the story. I'm trying not to ruin it for anyone if they haven't seen it yet. If you have seen it and you know about the wife then count the letters and you should figure out what I'm saying. Just trying to be sensitive to other viewers. ALSO note to the creator: I forgot to...

archived-videos Quickly, Go. - short film shot on 7D in Korea

Neat simple little chase film. I did have some issues...... - @ :22 the establish shot (?) is shaky and I wasn't crazy about that. - At bus stop you have him in the left of the frame and then right which I'm not crazy about. - Chase/running scene was all over the place and doesn't seem...

archived-videos Till Death... Short film shot on 5D

But then can you focus into the background through the lens with a rack focus? In this film I didn't care for the background out of focus and then they had to cut to entirely different shot of her in a close up to have her in focus and then they went back to the background out of focus. I'm...
