    He might want to do a search on proper boom technique. Alcove is just trying to save a lot of future frustration. Try and do some test runs or try and use some of equipment before you buy, especially if expensive.

    I would talk with the kid first to see how enthusiastic he is about the part. Make him co-producer and let him come up with the money. It might not be from his parents. Wealthy people ususally hang out with other welthy people. He might have it himself.

    Do not know where you are in Ma., but there are several makeup artists in the Boston area. The big problem is whether you can pay for their services. You could try Craigslist, Facebook and Linkedin. To get tips, you could try Youtube.

    Social Media craze

    There are some people who do this for film. The problem is that most small indies don't have the funds to hire someone like this. Occasionally, some may be part of production teams. You could spend more time on this than on producing your film.

    Shooting Inside a Hotel Room.

    I don't know where you are located, but Endicott College in Beverly has a hotel. They teach video production. They might be able to be approached about something like this.

    If a director asks if you believe in doing nude scenes, what should I say?

    There are several shows on HBO that have won or were nominated for Emmies that have nudity. If someone will not be comfortable with their grandchildren seeing a scene, don't do it because what you do can crop up 40 years or more in the future.

    You can check with the film bureau for assistance. I haven't checked for a while, but in Ma. there were companies that listed different items for filmmakers and there might be locations. You can also check with fellow filmmakers in your area to see if they know of any.

    If you expand your definition of shorts, people do make money. Commercials are shorts. Shows like Saturday Night Live is a bunch of shorts tied together with a theme. There are contests where you can win cash prizes for shorts and many have no fees. There are short promo pieces for companies.

    Another method is getting a co-production deal with an established producer. One of the reasons you see so many names of companies in the titles of major films.

    SAG question.

    Distributor asked to see clearances and actor decides he doesn't want to take the risk of losing SAG for future projects. Could decide he wants more money if you manag to gt distributor. Most distributors require Errors & Ommissions Insurance. You won't get it without clearances.

    If you had an amazing script and they had a production company, they might be willing to do a co production. It would have to be something that interest them or would help to expand their career.
