    Canon XL

Okay I read the whole thread and I change my mind. A DSLR or a small camcorder would be better. Don't rent expensive equipment if you don't know how to use it. Last year's Dorito's commercial had a budget of......................$20. He shot it with a consumer camera with a dog in his...

    Canon XL

Well he obviously doesn't want to use a DSLR. So let's stop suggesting that? How about something like a Canon HV20/30? I hear those used to be very popular..and they shoot HD and should be pretty cheap by now!

What other lens comes at par???

    Do you mean 50mm?I know there's a Sigma 50mm F1.4. It's cheaper too. I don't know if it's better though.

    Which Camera?

Many scenes from the movie "Act of Valor" and "127 Hours" were shot on DSLR, along with a few scenes from "Black Swan" and "Captain America." I have watched three of those movies in theaters and believe me, they look far from "crap" on the big screen. The footage holds up wonderfully, though...

Wide and fast lens for GH2.

Light doesn't power the camera. Also, don't depend on kickstarter to fund everything. Statistically, most projects don't get funded. And judging by this thread, you're very new at film making and don't have much experience to show so it'll be harder to get more funding, unless of course you...

Wide and fast lens for GH2.

Look at the Tokina 11-16 f2.8. it may not be as fats as the Voigtlander but it's respectable enough and crazy wide, even for the GH2. You'll probably need an adapter with an aperture ring built in though. Also, look at the Bower/Samyang/Rokinon 24mm f1.4 Very good lens I've heard
