Figuring out how good this is.

I'm afraid not. What, out of interest, would be your budget for a new camera?

    archived-videos The Last Straw...berry

I think the main thing I've learned is to spend more time on audio post. After recording everything, I just thought I could synch it all up and it would be done. No dice! I've got a great big book on sound manipulation; plenty of bedtime reading and experimentation, I reckon. On the plus...

    archived-videos The Last Straw...berry

Haha brutal! Thanks Alcove, I wouldn't have expected less :D Time spent on audio, total: about 32 hours. Time spent on actual audio post: not so much. To be honest, I didn't really know what I was doing and I was happy to get something recorded that almost matched the on-screen action. I don't...

tv-writing Feedback request for webisode pilot - Software House

Top stuff, thanks Aaron! I like that idea, I like it a lot. I'll have a rummage around my frontal lobe, see what I can find. Awesome, I can make a list! I shall keep you informed :)

    archived-videos The Last Straw...berry

Morning/Afternoon/Evening all. I had difficulty deciding where to post this. I don't even know how to describe it, maybe a comedy, but more of a bizarro action adventure based around a love of parks, with an electro chase sequence. And fruit. I think there's a hidden PSA message about getting...

    Another Production Diary

Very interesting read. Sounds like you've got a great vibe going on with your team. Keep up the updates :D

tv-writing Feedback request for webisode pilot - Software House

Thanks man, that's very kind of you! Shall do :D Does anyone else fancy giving it a read? Someone from the UK contingent would be useful. I'm aiming for a sort of cross between Spaced and IT Crowd, but with a cut-down webisode feel similar to The Guild. Lofty goals, I know.

Figuring out how good this is.

1 / 0.07 = 14.285714 repeating I'm no expert on stop motion, but I thought it looked pretty good. The lighting changes a bit at times, and at one point the camera pans to the right and then jerk to left before continuing to the right. Pretty good for a test shot though.

tv-writing Feedback request for webisode pilot - Software House

Great tips, thanks for your help! I'll get to work on the second draft (and redrafting Episode 2 in line with your comments). I'm currently based in Southampton (originally from Birmingham).

Can I use the name of a real crime gang?

Bill Hicks talked about the Hooligans a lot and look what happened to him :( Be safe, dude.

tv-writing Feedback request for webisode pilot - Software House

Hey, thanks for the feedback, man! I'm glad the plot and characters came across as comprehensible :D Thanks for the link, I've read through it, really helpful stuff. Could you give me an example of what I need to work on? My formatting looks okay to me, but a keener eye would probably spot...

tv-writing Feedback request for webisode pilot - Software House

Hi all I was wondering if I could get some feedback on a pilot for a short web series I'm writing. It's a comedy about a group of software developers who have a week to build and sell a video game in order for them to pay the rent to their psychotic landlord. **Removed - PM me** Note this is...

    The Con - Ideas needed

Good con ideas involve setting up a con the audience can see coming, and then "zoom out" at the end to reveal an even greater con that nobody expected (and then zooming out one last time to reveal an even greater con!) The Sting, as mentioned above, has a great example of that, and The Brothers...

A script of mine got proofread and here's what the reader said.

1 page of screenplay = 1 minute of screen time. Try to write your action scenes so that one minute of action fits on a single page. Concise descriptions and double-spaced lines are the way to achieve this. If you get stuck, or you don't think there is enough action on one page to fill one...

Greatest Advancement in Communications and Information Technology?

And to expand on that, 3G networks and mobile broadband. Mobile internet has begun unlocking the economies and manpower of hitherto forgotten countries (well forgotten by the West, anyway) in Africa and South Asia. And this is just the beginning.

archived-videos Slim to None Parts I and II

Just watched it, I thought it was not bad! The acting at the start was pretty good, a really intense opening. After that, I tend to agree with CamVader that it became a little slow. I think I was also distracted by the graininess. I'm going to assume that you chose the grainy look to add to the...
