Sound Design In "The Pros and Cons of Hitch Hiking" CD

I wouldn't write off prog with one album, especially Waters solo since he's building on and diverging from a massive back-catalogue of Pink Floyd awesomeness. If you're not familiar, there are quite a lot of foothills to get over before tackling inclines like this! I recommend you first check...

Production mixer - guy who monitors recording and mixes sound on set. I think ;) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Production_sound_mixer

getting started on a budget for instructional video?

Thanks for keeping us informed, it's really interesting reading about your experiences! I don't know much about video editing, but good call upgrading from iMovie :D If you wanted to upgrade from Audacity, I've been using a program called Reaper, which you can get free on a 30 day trial ($40...

How do you delete a thread?

I think the delete functionality would apply if you had the privs. Depending on how the forum's set up, probably not many people have the privileges.

    Time machine?

How do you stage a fight?

Sometimes, if the angles are right, you can cut out a few frames after the impact to make your hits look faster or snappier. I'm not sure if this is a legitimate technique, or something ill-advised I picked up from Filmriot  Also, good sound, well synched, can really sell an impact.

The Official Marijuana and Short Film Poll

I wouldn't recommend admitting to taking illegal drugs, even on a forum.

getting started on a budget for instructional video?

Sounds good, man. You should be able to monitor levels with your recording/editing software... like GuerrillaAngel says, FCE is a great investment. Not too hardcore, not too expensive but a million times better than iMovie (you'll run into iMovie's limitations pretty quickly). Please let us...

    R.I.P. AMY

Good post. I couldn't help but read it in Brand's whimsical voice, made it even better.

Movies that are short films at first to get funding.

Guy Richie's short The Hard Case is essentially a 20 minute proof-of-concept for Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels. I think it's included on some editions of the DVD.

getting started on a budget for instructional video?

I'm no expert on mics and things, but I'd hate to see your post slip by the wayside since you've actually put in a lot of detail about what you want (something that rarely happens around these parts!) Perhaps this bump will draw the attention of someone more knowledgeable. It sounds like you...

    Building blocks of a script?

Have you read Save the Cat by Blake Snyder? It is full of great ideas on how to take your script from your brain, transpose it onto tiny pieces of paper and finally, after shuffling the tiny pieces of paper around on a board for a few months, how to put them into a screenplay format. Dead cheap...

What's your budget? If you're on a super-low budget (<$300) see the link CHamburger posted. I think the most important thing at this budget is to have a guy to hold the boom and get the mic in close.

How did Pulp Fiction break the writing rules? (SPOILERS)

I think the clue here is in the title of the course: Screenwriting 101. It's aimed at beginners. It's designed to show you the very basics of screenwriting. You're then comparing this with what big-shot Hollywood professionals are writing. Hollywood writers have got the basics down. They've...

Hehe I spent a week trying to decide between the H4N and the DR-100... it's nice to know I'd be screwed either way! Although I heard there's a mod for the Tascam that improves the pre-amps: http://www.oade.com/digital_recorders/hard_disc_recorders/upgrades.html For the price though, you might...
