My personal favorite is Free Music Archive. Not everything there is free for commercial use, but you can search for CC-licensed work that is. There's some fantastic music from a lot of great indie bands included there.

I've watched five, not counting one I started watching that couldn't hold my interest (My Summer of Love). The five I watched all the way through were: Idiocracy The Iron Giant Moon Rescue Dawn The Rules of Attraction I particularly loved Rescue Dawn and Idiocracy.

I would counter with a higher price. Go back and tell him you want $8k. Nine times out of ten, when someone makes an initial offer out of the blue like that, they're low-balling you.

For that one shot, I would try to make sure you keep the depth of field as deep as possible, so that there's a lot more leeway in keeping things in focus. That should make it easier for someone with little/no experience to pull focus (or possibly even allow it to be avoided completely). Sure...

I have to disagree wholeheartedly with this. I write novels and novellas and I have to say that some of my best writing comes on the rare days when I write 10k+ words (my highest day ever was about 15k words). Why? Because to write at that volume means you have to be into what you're writing...

Anywhere from a few days to a few weeks for me. My first feature, which was around 100 pages, took 4 days. My most recent took about a month for the first draft, though to get to a "finished" draft (which will still probably change) took 15 months total (though I set it aside for months at a time).

I'm a huge Joss Whedon fan, so I'm gonna say Serenity. :D It was the first film he directed, even though he'd directed Buffy, Angel, and Firefly before that.

I can't f'ing wait to see this! I thought it was being shot at 48fps, not 60fps? Either way, I think it's going to be hyper-realistic in 3D. This is one of those times when I'll be happy to spend $15 on a ticket to see it in 3D at the nearest good theater (which is nearly 2 hours away)...

Watched Melancholia on Netflix instant tonight. Fantastic film. Incredibly depressing, but fantastic. Be beginning is like a super-slow-motion acid trip—beautiful and haunting. I'll give it a 9.5/10.
