You can't lose your works with piracy since they are already made sure you can say that you're losing cash with piracy but you could also be picking up more fans in the long run that it doesn't even matter. It's a great way to for your work to get into the hands of so many that may be uncertain...

My suggestion is don't be greedy and limit yourself to only those that will make you money because in the long haul that will just hurt you. I say you put your movie on a torrent site that does creator owned things only. That way you get your movie out to a lot more people.
