It seems that going rate for a producer's rep (or any distributor for that matter) is 20%-25%.

It would probably be better to give them a discount in order to encourage them to accept it.

That's hard drive space, not RAM. Big difference. Right-click on the My Computer icon and choose Properties. That should tell you how much RAM you have in your computer. If you're working with video you should have at least 1GB.

Some sort of protection if you are going to offer people downloadable versions of films. (Apple DRM would be best since it is cross-platform).

It all depends on who owns the rights. I used two different songs in my film (one by Brad Sucks who self-distributes and one by Porcupine Tree who is pretty big) and luckily both were owned by the bands so I got clearance ffrom btoh for points. It didn't cost me anything up front.

A few days ago I started thinking that, "Gee... wouldn't it be cool if I could get my preview up on Apple's site?" Unfortuntately for many of us that will never happen due to cost. The same goes for Yahoo and other sites that provide previews to the public. So what are we left with? Sites...
