    archived-videos Echo - Short Film

Was very nicely done, but as others have pointed out it was kind of obvious what happened from the get go. With that in mind, a lot of the shots felt a bit too... I don't know what the word is... interactive? That you were going with the idea that his wife was dead, shots that had stuff like her...

archived-videos Silent Hill Restless Dreams Remastered Short Film

It's not a problem with the audience's volume, it's a problem with the sounds in the clip in comparison with each other. At no point should you have the background music overshadowing the story narrative, so just lower the sound of the background music - the main point of focus in a scene...

archived-videos The Lost Dream (Eng Sub)

At the beginning, the camera work was pretty bad - it's those kinds of takes that you need to have seen during shooting and told yourself you need to reshoot. Panning and then tilting in the same shot is just... it just doesn't look good in those kinds of shots. It's very rare something like...

archived-videos Silent Hill Restless Dreams Remastered Short Film

I quite liked it. Personally, I'm not entirely sure whether a direct conversion to film of Silent Hill 2 would be appropriate, considering it's largely considered to be like a visual representation of a good book. The cheesy acting and light script more akin to the work of Stephen King than...

@kinglis: http://youtu.be/Amvx52YlUb0 It was quite a nice compilation!

archived-videos Curitiba Zombie City - Trailer

Doesn't look too bad, not entirely sure what there is to document about the zombie walk though. And this really should be in the Documentary board, not the Narrative board.

archived-videos I'd love to get feedback on my film

I thought it was alright :) Again, it felt like an episode of Goosebumps, because of the slightly non-serious presentation of all of it. The bird fit rather well.

archived-videos I'd love to get feedback on my film

I think to get over the whole "the bird looked too unnatural / fake", a shot of the bird's shadow looming over the girl as she looks up in fear would have done better. Possibly even from the bird's perspective, and a quick zoom on the girl screaming as it pecks the peck of dooooom.

archived-videos I'd love to get feedback on my film

I quite liked it! Loved the red hood too, felt like it was going to be some sort of variation on the Little Red Riding Hood - which I guess it was (girl sent to a family home through the forest by herself, except this time it's a bird and not a wolf, and the girl loses). It felt like... a more...

cinematography How would I go about making a flashback/memory?

If I was going to make a distinguishable flashback I'd have to look at the scenes I'm intending to flash to and from and make a judgement call. For example, extreme lighting changes often signify a massive time jump of some sort, but if both scenes were set outside in a field during the same...

    archived-videos Feedback on short?

I think it was quite a nice video! There were some problems with the certain choices of shots and the pacing, but other than that I thought it was done quite nicely. Specifically, I think you spent way too long on certain shots, like the opening shot of her talking to Jason (I'm assuming it's...

archived-videos Short Film - Mobsters, Pretty Girls & Violence

Whole thing should have been slow-motion, the faster moments seemed out of place considering the pace of the song. Could have also done without the "earlier that night" caption and "fuck you" subtitles. They just didn't really fit. Did really take quite long though, and this should really be...

    Production Podcasts and Vlogs

No problem. The Terminator: Sarah Connor Chronicles DVDs also have some good Behind The Scenes stuff you can probably find online if you don't like the show. Season 2's stuff does at least, it talks through the storyboarding process, choreography of fight scenes, etcetera.

archived-videos Jumpin' on High - 48 Hour Film Project submission

I liked the film, but you should really get to making a steadicam rig soon so that the next time you get to a project like this you'll have it ready. There are plenty of DIY tutorials on YouTube that show you how to make one for cheap - I especially like this one by IndyMogul.

    archived-videos Sexy Car Wash

Oh god that was hilarious! The consistently serious expression really sold it. I think the sound quality could definitely be improved though, and the logo placed at the beginning rather than the end (or both if you really want to, but the end is more for credits than logos). Did you dub over...

Didn't realize there was a third one, sweeeet. Those videos have such a friendly feel to them, it's like they're all close friends doing the stuff they love to do. And dwarves playing air guitar is always hilarious.

    Production Podcasts and Vlogs

So recently I discovered the 'Breaking Bad Insider Podcast' and didn't realize quite how much information there would be for new film makers. In the three episodes they've done for this season so far they've discussed the importance of extras (and the extra pressures that can come along with...

archived-videos Jumpin' on High - 48 Hour Film Project submission

The guy who narrated sounded a bit too posh, in my opinion, even though that's what his character basically is. It just didn't sound too fitting. The film in general could have done with some background music throughout. Other than that, I thought it was done pretty well :) The only other thing...
