Here in the US we call it "ask your parents." Failing that, the alternative is called a "job." :)

    DV vs Flash Memory

Ironically, flash cards ARE the format of choice for most high-end cameras these days. So neither medium is going to make you look more or less "professional." Like Will said, the format is less important than the camera itself. And in your budget range, most of the cameras are pretty much...

    Canon EOS 5D Mark II

You CAN mount the H4N on the 5D/7D, but we chose not to do it that way and instead had the sound person monitoring with the H4N near him. We didn't use a 5D, just a 7D, but the sound setup is the same since it's independent of the camera. Regarding the sync issue, I can only speak to the 7D...

    NARRATOR: carrot or stick?

I think blanketly saying that this or that technique NEVER works or always fails is just dumb. It depends on the movie. Any technique can be used well or used poorly. Flashbacks. Narration. Camera takes. CGI. Split screen. If it works, great. I might not like it necessarily, but that...

    Canon EOS 5D Mark II

The AT835b is wired directly to the H4N, which is recorded independently from the 7D. The sound is then synced in post. In long and short takes, we never experienced anything remotely approaching a sync issue. We were recording 23.97 1080p.

    Copyrighted music in dance documentary

As directorik says, that isn't fair use. It's arguable that the street dancers aren't using the music properly either, although doubtful someone will pop them for it. ;) Btw, clearance doesn't necessarily mean you have to pay money. You could just get permission. Never hurts to ask.

    lighting Low Light Short Film

That won't work. While you can light up the scene brighter than it will ultimately appear on screen, you will have to maintain the ratio between light and shadow that you want to achieve in post. That means if you light up your fill too bright, the highlights will clip. So light as close to...

    Filmaking equitment.

The speed and compactness of the camera make it, IMO, an ideal option for the kind of production you're talking about. That's essentially what our short film was. The camera is VERY sensitive, meaning you can get away with a lot less light than you'd need for the DVX100, for example. Plus...

    Filmaking equitment.

I'm mostly using the equipment that I already had for my DVX100. Your existing tripods, shoulder mounts, mics, cranes, etc should be more than adequate with a few adjustments. The only equipment we've had to add was a Zoom H4N recorder since the 7D only has a mini jack input for sound and has...

    editing AE slow motion

You can't do it in AE without a plugin. The most common one is Twixtor.

    Canon XH-A1 or XL-H1A???

Sorry, I meant it's motion picture 35mm size, running vertically thru the gate, not FF35.

cinematography how to capture the best slow motion

For true slo-mo, you shoot a very high frame rate and then slow it down to 24fps in post. A lot of cameras these days can shoot 60 or even 120 fps. My camera does 60, which makes for some pretty decent slo-mo.

    Dark themed short Video ??????

Shooting a dark or "noir" look isn't necessarily about underexposing. It's about having a low key light but exposing other areas properly. Pay attention to noir films and where they put their lights. It's exposed, it's just exposed differently.
