I haven't got too many books on directing at the moment, but I recommend Michael Rabigers Directing: Film Techniques and Aesthetics. Covers a whole lot of stuff including on set to theory. Can be quite a heavy read compared to some other books as it goes in depth, but fantastic!
The topic of camera movement and lighting is too vast to fit in this thread. I suggest you read some tutorials online or buy some good cinematography books if your just looking for general tips.

And yeah, don't worry too much about spending loads on all the best gear at first. Get to grips with the art of filmmaking more first.
I may have some money at the time, but if I do I doubt it will be very much. I understand I may run into troubles if I'm working with union actors.
