    So film is expensive...

Rizien--I sooo wish you could do that! But you're right, if you expose film to light before you develop it, bye bye footage. Unloading a spool of film from my bolex 16mm in the dark did manage to increase my love for my GL1 mini-dv. But when I got the 16mm footage back (several hundred bucks...

    Gimme a D... Gimme a V...

Film and tape are just mediums, like paint brushes to the painter. I think the story is more important (to me anyhow). But digital is great because it allows the masses to be filmmakers at a low low cost (compared to an all film-production). I love them all: DV, super8, 16, hi-8, even friggin...

    archived-videos Scarred for Life I

The narrator voice-overs were quiet and the narrator voice seemed unnatural to me, I think that was the only element that stuck out to me that makes it appear like a low-budget production. Also, a question I wonder is how soldiers feel about their being in Iraq in the first place, do they think...

archived-videos Breakdancing, Snow, and Milk? Check out my music video!

Super confusing and insane and way cool. The milk drumming and milk-carton-face guys make for some surreal entertainment.

You know I must have seen that movie over 40 times and I never noticed that!

    Writing/Directing...

"You are number 6." -- "I am not a number, I am a free man!" I agree with Poke about general story telling, though I love to make folks laugh. I also think the documentary is incredibly important for human evolution and history preservation. But I voted for experimental cuz I'm feeling...

    Washington/BC area?

Yarr, I be just south of ye, at the base of the Sound, soaking up the rain and sucking down the rum. Well, more like honey brewed wheat hefewiesen...yummy.

    archived-videos College Life

Was confused what the additional characters at the start added and also what they were doing/talking about (aside from being drunk). I liked the parallel parking part the best. Overall, I prefer "OU Uncovered", seemed more thought-out than "College Life". Also it seems your shots have better...

    archived-videos "1958" - (temporary forum location)

I liked it, laughed out loud when he hung up on the 'Napper. Good timing. The end was a good twist too. Went from funny, to disturbing (must have been all those swears), back to funny.

    archived-videos Under Nor Cal trailer

KG-I am so all about digital projectors. Then I could truly be a one man filmmaking army with production, post production and friggin distribution all able to fit in my trunk. 800 bucks isn't bad either. As for your questions: What format is the film on? Is it Digital or real film? I...

    archived-videos Under Nor Cal trailer

KG -- I recorded all the music in the trailer song myself: drums, gits, bass, vox, keys, um i think that's it, on a 16 track 1 inch tape multitrack Otari. So it's not my band. But I AM in a new band now. A brand new band. Thanks for the Concord and Alameda venue info. Always good to have...

Explain how the 29.97fps works exactly, please!

ZEN -- So which do you prefer, Badger or Mushroom? I'm kind of partial to Mushroom today. Did you make that Flash, it is very disturbing, I love it!

archived-videos Original Sci-fi Series: "The Portal"

I was only successful at downloading episode 2, but the super slow pace and monotonous dialog was starting to grow on me. These guys could be talking about changing their coffee brands they're so mellow! I dig the special effects too and the "inside the spaceship" hum.

    archived-videos At Confession - Suspense

Dug the music and pace but I thought the ending was too abrupt. I'm left thinking this guy turns into a serial killer. And not a very good one if he leaves the wedding ring (evidence) of his marriage at the scene of his (assumed) second murder (Church). But then again the Zodiac Killer...

Yes I will upload it soon and then drop a line on this board when it is up and ready (today?). I love and HATE internet media sometimes.

    archived-videos PSEUDO HEROS

Favorite part was when after the Flash 'runs' the other dude gets up and bails, then walks by the flash as he's still running in place. Musta been fun running through the wall too.

    Howdy

Finally saw May tonight. Totally disturbing. I loved it! Thanks for the suggestion. I think the scene you referred to was one of the best ones. I also liked the scene where she smoked her first cig all awkward. Quite an actress.

    archived-videos Music video/short story

Dig the split screen and the super low profile screen dimension, lowrider style. Or is it 16X9? Seems too skinny to be 16X9. Could go without some of the long zooms. Also some scenes were dark but that may have been my PC monitor.
