    The Ultimate Camera Debate

For that price range, have you considered going P2 with the Panasonic HVX200? That's what I'd go with.

HORRORS OF WAR on DVD (finally)

Congrats! I'm picking up my copy this weekend when I get out of the hospital. Second surgery starts in hours. What's their reason for not including the commentary track? That's pretty weak not to include one nowadays, especially when you have one ready to add to the disc.

    Beowulf

Sooner than you think. I've heard that there's a CGI film in production that is bringing back a lot of the 1940's actors into a film-noir type mystery with a few of the now deceased famous actors. If I can find some info on it, I'll post it here. I guess the biggest hurdle was to get permission...

editing Export format (from FC) for 1 hr doc to be downloadable on my website

MPEG2 is the native DVD format, but it's too large. H.264 is optimal for the web: It gives you excellent video quality in a small file, but it's not always the best choice moving to a DVD (I have personal experience doing this a few times, although I consider it 'acceptable'). Don't even...

Thesis Film seeks $1350. Yeah, only that much.

I'm in the same boat you are - I'm broke as a joke. The fun that I find in film making is finding ways to create my vision on a zero budget. The creation process is one of may things that fascinates me. I love finding ways of MacGuyvering everything. Just because you don't have any green in...

    Fangs

I'm jealous, I wish I could start production on my vampire movie. :) Personally, I like the middle picture. Adding extra sharpened teeth other than the canines makes the movie seem schlocky.

    Blogging, a marketing tool

Blogging has brought me much more traffic than I ever thought possible. From it, I get fan mail from all over the world (mostly the Netherlands) who claim they saw one or both of my blogs and that's how they found my films. I agree, it's a powerful tool as long as you keep it interesting and...
