    OFFICIAL New Year's Thread

We at Loud Orange Cat productions wish you have a very happy and positive New Year. Please drink responsibly and if you choose to drink and drive, you'll receive a visit from a small orange house cat who will hamstring you then hang you upside down from a lamp post. I'll videotape it and post...

    New Year's

That's what my goals were before I got sick. Now, I'm lucky to have something in production after a year and a half. Keep working hard, Knightly!

Discouraging web essay ("Don't make a film...")

OMG, this thread will go on forever with everyone whining about production, style, blah blah blah. There is no "tried and true formula" to guarantee success of a film. If there was, there'd be no bad films. Really. Think about it. Everyone here has an original idea that they want to put to...

    NEW Production In The Works!

Yes, you read that right. I'm writing a new script for a new project and I hope to shoot it in the month of January. This is the first production since Bad Cat 5 in late 2006. I'm sorry I haven't kept my word on releasing at least four productions per year like I wanted, but this 'cancer'...

Home-Built Steadycam or Digital Video Stabilizer ?

I looked around for quite a while for cheap, homemade jobs, but settled for the real thing: Steadicam JR Lite. It cost just over $200 at B&H, but I considered it a good investment.

I do it all for fun.

Final Cut Pro vs. Final Cut Express

I have both. Gee, where do I begin? I got Studio 2 just for one reason myself: Soundtrack. This is the most awesome program on the face of the earth. I can go on forever describing the differences, but my question to you is this: what do you expect out or an editing program? What do you need...

Macbeth 3000: This Time It's Personal

I think he'll be changing his tune when he sees it WITH the subtitles. Denis will be receiving hate mail from Filmy soon.

Macbeth 3000: This Time It's Personal

Denis was kind enough to send me a copy of MB3K not too long ago. This really is one kickass movie!! The only question is... Captions ON or captions OFF for the first viewing?!

    Ripped off

Personal opinions aside, I'm not the biggest fan of the WGA myself, but the quick, inexpensive registration process will (believe it or not) be the best way to avoid 'legal hassles' if you have a registered screenplay that you believe has been ripped off. Trust me on this one and ask others...

    Ripped off

Did you register your screenplays with the WGA before the sale? If so, you've got the upper hand and may not know it.

Hello and note on the WGA Stike

I agree that we should just "pay the writers", but isn't one of the things that they're asking for in their strike is for internet downloads and the like? How exactly can this be regulated? Are they asking for a small commission every time the show they write is downloaded? But doesn't that...
