Canon 550D... will i regret it?

Kit lens is a good allrounder. 1.8 50mm Prime is a great first lens; although the 1.4 50mm is better if you can afford it.

Canon 550D... will i regret it?

Yeah 60D or 5D are better if you can afford it, but I doubt you'd ever be disappointed w/ a 550d - they're exceptional value for money.

Can someone explain the "12mins" limit in the T2i please?

No worries. It's a fantastic camera and you will enjoy it. The 12 minute max isn't of any concern unless you're shooting documentaries.

Can someone explain the "12mins" limit in the T2i please?

12 min max on each continous recording shot. You can do as many of these you want until your card fills up.

    Steady/Glidecam options for Canon 60D, $150 budget

Glidetrack SD or INDIEslider are your best bet.

    T2i Shootable out of box?

I've got both the kit & the 1.8 50mm. They both have uses, but tbh 80%+ of the time I'll use the 50mm. I just think it's plain better.

action Overusing words in action lines - "look" "sit"

Good writers can use adverbs to enhance, not detract. There are many times when only using a verb, no matter how good, is enough. Take a pen and paper and try to think of a few examples.

    editing Which iMac?

This makes a lot of sense. OP, if editing on a Mac is going to save you a ton of time and effort , then as long as you have money to burn you can probably justify getting a Mac. Just be aware that pound for pound, a PC blows a Mac out of the water and it's not anywhere near to being close.

    editing Which iMac?

It's not relative at all, though. It's very black and white; some components are better than others. I don't understand how using more expensive, inferior hardware can be justified because it 'enhances workflow' or 'makes you happier'. A custom built PC will perform better than a new iMac at a...

    editing Which iMac?

Huh? Who said anything about other software? I know many editors who use FCP on their PC's. Sure, it's not beginner stuff to setup (requires OS modding), but if you want it you can have it. Sorry you weren't aware. On what planet does a better system for less money = not a better deal...

    editing Which iMac?

Correct, you can get a much better one.

    editing Which iMac?

It might be easier, but you can get a much better PC system for £400 (!) cheaper - is it really worth spending that much more just to save some possible compatibility issues? With a Mac you are paying for a brand name, which is daylight robbery. My advice is go to any decent shop in the UK and...

    editing Which iMac?

Is it important you have a Mac? The reason I ask is because I've just built my new PC and it pisses all over the spec of those two Mac's and was £400 cheaper.

    Creating horror that's 'real'

In many circumstances it's better to never show. I'm obviously not talking about things that we want revealed to have a satisfying ending; more individual events in the film. The mind can imagine things far more visceral than anything we can show on screen, which is the key to creating...
