Sadly, the camera came with Kodachrome 40 Type A, and after doing research just now, they no longer process that type of film. :( Any recommendations for other types of film?

It's a Canon 512 XL. Pretty easy to use. I don't know much about Super 8 cameras but I think this is a good start camera. I've been shooting some experimental footage today and once I get the film developed I'll post it on here! Cheers!

My friend lent me that DIY $30 Film School book. I would recommend getting the revised version. It's very helpful and very detailed on every aspect of film-making!
