there is only one question you have to anser yourself.... "how would you feel if someone used (stole) something you filmed without asking?

The reason why a lot of microbudget thrillers don't take off, is this:

Im quite happy to watch any short film from any genre, but the problem I find is that so many just dont grab my attention straight away.... I either have to sit through elaborate title sequences that take up 3 minutes of a 7 minute short film.... long drawn out opening dialogue sequences or too...

For the same price - 550D/T2i or 600D/t3i?

if it was me.... I would get the 600D, the kit lens is definitely adequate and the articulating LCD screen on the 600d is a god send if you dont have a field monitor

New tripod + Slider, will they work?

Hi, i recently bought a Glidetrack SD to use my Canon 600d on, the first problem I encountered was that the screw/thread size on the slider was smaller than the hole on my 600D so i invested in a tripod head like this one...

Hi Guys, So ever since I purchased my DSLR, i have been constantly told from various sources... "make sure you use a 'flat' picture profile.... I shoot a lot of promo videos and documentary style stuff on my DSLR and my question is should a "flat" profile only be used for narrative projects?

editing How do I get this type of slow motion?

Quick basic workflow question with slow motion footage. Say I shoot a clip at 60fps on my 600D, when i come to editing do i set my timeline at 60fps and then slow it down from there or can i put my 60fps footage in a 25fps timeline and still slow it down?

Can the INDIETALK community come together?

Hey Guys, Thanks Nick for your links.... i feel a bit stupid now that such a similiar idea has already been talked about at length. In saying that.... I really really like "The Cure" idea and although it seems to have hit a dead end in the past... i would really like to talk to you further...

Can the INDIETALK community come together?

Obviously this is just an idea so there are many questions to answer and problems to ponder, all of the above ones mentioned I have thought about already. It will definitely be a hard, confusing and complicated project but that's the fun part haha With so many tastes in different films from...

    editing Noise reduction software/plug in's

Hi Guys, I have shot a promotional video in very low light conditions where I had no control over further lighting so I had to bite the bullet and push the ISO up to around 1250/1600 on some shots with my T3i. I just want to clean up the noise a little bit, I have done research and it seems...

Can the INDIETALK community come together?

The Indietalk online community is one of the best I know and like any good community when they work together they can create something special. Even over the past year there have been indie talk collaborations on certain members personal projects. But can the whole indietalk community come...

    Hollywood robbed me!

Hey Nick, Like you said, they are different films but just have some tenious links. If you had similar cast and promotional items then I would say forget it but from what I've seen your films looks asthetically different from the major release. If its the main story you are worried about, if...

Feedback on my script so far?

Hi Emily, I had a read of the script and found it more interesting than most! Which is definitely a good thing. The opening was good and got me interested straight away. I agree at times it did feel like I was reading a book and some of the descriptions could be pulled back a bit. But other...

Help! I Failed HORRIBLY. What kind of Lens Can Achieve this Look?

I really suggest you listen to what people are saying.... Canon EF 50mm F1.8 II

Hi, I use the 50mm 1.8f on a regular basis for video on a 600d and love it, the image quality is so much sharper than your kit lenses which i also have the same. The 50mm is by far the most used lens i have although i will give a huge recommendation to the Samyang line of lenses!
