sound Anyone know the deal with music ?

Yes I am In Wales. I managed to get clearance for My Sharona a while back very easily by simply sending a letter to the record company and explaining in a very detailed manner what I would be using the song for. So ill probobly just try that again :)

    Britain, wheres it going ?

Hi. I was just wondeing if anyone here had any idea whats happening to the BFI or even general film-making in the UK ? Recently I heard something about Thunderbirds being much more than just a movie to the UK film industry, that it was some sort of tie breaker ... anyone else hear this ...

Tired, cliched scripts must include these lines:

Im so angry that Antoine Fuqua directed that movie ! and that jerry bruckheimer produced it. Its one of the few things that the BFI had left to really get its teeth into, and some Americans have gone and done it :(

    Question

not in my experience, people always tell me that I look very different in my films. Thinner, older and less weird.

    hmmm..where to begin??

Yea the fast show really is rather funny. Though I love those sort of mockumentary fly-on-the-wall spoofs like The Office, Im Alan Partridge (actually, anything Steve Coogan takes part in). Im also into Peter Kays Phoenix Nights, thats great.

sound Anyone know the deal with music ?

Hi. Im about 1/5th of the way through shooting my summer feature movie and Ive begun doing some rough cuts of the scenes ive shot. This gives me lots of time to think about music for the film. I am using my friends help to 'score' the move most of the way though but there are one or two parts...

    It's "indie" for me, because...

Certainly annoying limited indeed. I wouldnt say im really ''into'' indie, but neither would I say that Im using it as a stepping stone to move up. I just enjoy the process of movie-making, plain and simple. Id do it for the rest of my life as long as i was fed and had a place to sleep.

THOMAS JANE FANS - The Punisher in his first feature film

Cool, ive been an avid fan of Tom Jane since I saw Boogie Nights for the first time, i thought he played a brilliant character in that film. Getting everyone into trouble and then getting them out so that they can laugh over it later. He reminds me of one of my dads friends.

How do you want to be remembered?

Id quite like to be remembered for the feeling I give people when they first see my work. (ie. Pulp Fiction, that gut wrenching moment just BEFORE Butch slashes the pawnshop owner across the belly. Goodfellas, Joe Pescii ''I am a clown to you, do i amuse you ?'' Heat, The moment...

    Violent or Not

Tolerance is a strange subject. Wasnt it some great political leader that once said ; ''The only thing I cant tolerate is intolerance'' (Thus contradicting himself) Did anybody here ever see that episode of South Park where the kids are sent to a 'concentration camp'-like ''Tolerance Camp'' ...

    Violent or Not

I thought that QT actually filmed the black and white shots in colour, and then changed it to black and white in post in order to keep those shots in the movie (as opposed to being cut out for rating reasons)- not for any artistic effect or anything. I heard that in the Japanese version of Kill...

    Violent or Not

Yea thats a funny moment, for those of you who dont know Itchy is dousing Scratchy in gasoline while ''Stuck In The Middle'' is playing. Then a cartoon QT walks in and says something to the jist of ''I mean like violence is everywhere, alright ? Its like on cereal boxes and everything man''...

    Hows the money divided up?

What can I say ? Its true, everything I hear about Hollywood is bad. Everytime I hear some mega succesful film-maker talk about it its always in a negative way. They say Hollywood wastes money, they say Hollywood is full of backstabbers, they say Hollywood is about nothing but money. Ive read...

    Exporting With Adobe Premiere Pro

Yes I use virtualdub for deinterlacing too, sorry I forgot to mention that :) You can deinterlace at the same time as when you are compresing with virtualdub - i use the 'field bob', and 'de-interlace' features for best results, and as i said i compress with Xvid. Seen as its all free I see no...

    Hows the money divided up?

Its for reasons like that, that I plan to stay away from Hollywood altogether ( or is the fact that i live in a town called 'Holywell' some sort of strange sign ? :)) Anyway personally I generally prefer European films like Amelie, Run Lola Run, Trainspotting etc.etc, and 99% of people that move...

    The Double Act

Hey everyone. Over the coming 8/10 weeks I will be shooting a feature film that im sure some of you would have heard of had you read any of my earlier posts. It is a fantastical action buddy comedy if you can call it anything. The two lead characters are called Dante & Rico. They are Beast...
