It, what's good about this is you played the role of the software manufacturer and I played the consumer. Each is looking at this from their own angle.

I am fine because the other software is all perpetual license software. A year from now, if I am out of work and cannot afford to pay for a new subscription, I still have my old version software to make something and something is better than nothing.

Without income, that's useless.

And, that's why I don't like it. My finances are too insecure. We all cannot depend on having a job a year from now. And, if unemployed, use the old version to make a demo reel for work. Their software being pirated is not my problem. My income is.

It's subscription software and not perpetual. A year from now, if you cannot afford to renew another year, you have nothing. With perpetual license, you still have full use of what you paid for back then.

And, when you know one editing program, the others are much easier to learn.
