    archived-videos YOU ARE ALONE trailer

Well you've got my attention. I don't need to know a thing more about the film... I want to see it. The song used really set the mood. So much so I just purchased Miss Baskette's album.

Ashville. great town. I've some old friends that have recently moved to your neck o'the woods. I'm also a big fan of LEAF one town over. Its been a couple of years but I used to go all the time. Sorry I'm not in TN. I currently reside in the hot bed of American history, Ye ol' towne of...

What would u like to see adapted as a movie?

Orsen Scott Card's "Enders Game" Great science fiction paced perfectly for a film. Also a Richard Bachman Novella "Rage" I know that Stephen King has been done, poorly more often than not, but I have always thought that this particular story would adapt well. It may not be recieved well since...

    Remakes, Yea or Nay?

" These things that we call classics were/are financial successes. A film that isn't seen can not be classic and one must pay, in some form, to see a film." A poorly thought out statement indeed. However.... A true enough statement, however I have never quite understood the sentiment. Can...

    Remakes, Yea or Nay?

A true enough statement. However for the most part film has never been about the art but about the profit. Was the original kong made out of a selfless desire to explore the deeper truths of life. Nay, they wanted to make a buck. Perhaps as viewers we occasionally get lucky and a film is...

    Remakes, Yea or Nay?

Dr. I can not believe that your argument is true, except in the case where the remake is better then the original. I don't truly believe in ten/fifteen years time that the remake of "psycho" will even be remembered. However there will cinophiles, such as yourself, for a long time to come who...

    "New Movies Rules"?

maybe your right, I think it will be very interesting in twenty years to take look at contemporary films and see which ones make us cringe. Some of them already do. The making of doc on superman though was very interesting.

    "New Movies Rules"?

Interesting read, thanks Pimp Daddy. For the most part it seems that the author wants movies to more reflect real life. Accurate dialogue, jobs, money, action, nudity..... how dull. I get all that stuff everyday all day long. (well ok I could use more nudity.... who couldn't.... except...

films about 1 event/day told from POV of characters seperately

If I remember correctly doesn't the story change each time it is told? Plus wasn't the story only told from Lola's POV? or was the boyfriends POV used too? See now I just can't remember.... interesting watch none the less.

films about 1 event/day told from POV of characters seperately

Ok this suggestion doesn't exactly fit, but here goes. Tape Three characters in a hotel room over one evening. Events not shown from each POV though. Although the event they discuss is rehashed verbelly through each characters POV.

You are right, but Depp does deserve some recognition. I felt the same as you when PJ won for LotR:RofK. IMO he should have won for all three. But then I guess that is an entirely different circumstance. Have you seen "Finding Neverland?" Since I haven't I can't speak on his performance...

    the eighties

Well ladies and gents this is one heck of a list you all put together. With no repeats, sequals being counted as one entry, 79 movies have been named. Although not all made the cut many of these have been added to my netflix queue, which I am happy to announce has broken the 200 mark. So...

    the eighties

Man out here were not even good enough for snow, just ice, lots of ice. Great list so far, however I am thinking that I am looking for the more abscure stuff. Stuff that I wouldn't have been exposed to as a kid. "brazil" is something that I have been meaning to see. I can't say enough good...

    the eighties

A recent discussion on indie film and and an article posted from the NY times made me realize that my awareness of film in the 80's is sorely lacking. I was but a wee lad in that decade so my exposure has been limited. If I were to do a survey of 80's film what would you all recommend I see...

    Indie FIlms

I agree with all you have said here. The major indie directors of the ninities, QT, Smith, Rodriguez, Linkleter, soderbergh, et al that we have been discussing have also been absorbed by the studio system. Isn't that absorbtion part of the equation however. To have indie "brought" to hollywood...

:huh:ok see now I am getting confused.... produced is not the same thing as financed??? or is it??? can a hollywood studio finance an independently produced film?? the reason I ask is because I was under the impression, and please correct me if I am wrong, that the the key directors of the...
