Nice job! What part of SoCal are you from? I almost think this would have been a lot darker had you used an objective narrator. Almost like telling the noir from an omnipresent observer's standpoint. If that makes sense.

I think the weirdness severely outweighs the comedy. However I totally see what you are trying to accomplish. I dig the character design! Why not streamline it a bit? If you shortened this by a minute or so it would be weird, funny, and easier to sit through.

My next short! Taking the tips / feedback I received from my first project to shoot a horror idea I've had for a while.

The Invitation Had an interesting premise, a lot of chaos and suspense in a small environment. Unfortunately the film used typical crutches towards the end. Would have enjoyed it more if it remained dark instead of getting sentimental.

Show us the final product once it is done!

Lucky, if you haven't already, watch Tickled and The Jinx. One talks about a niche fetish and the other deals with true crime. Both approach the subjects with respect and an objective viewpoint. Also, anything by Louie Theroux is great reference for a documentary in my humble opinion. Best of luck!
