    almost there... camera question.

ha! thanks for that. see silly me, when i heard these cameras had good mics i just assumed you'd do all the sound with it. But yeh, that makes sense. I've been using a senheiser 416p on a friends production and it's fantastic for dialogue. It seems to be an industry standard. So with something...

    almost there... camera question.

Thanks champ! I'm majoring in sound so i dont think any of that will be a problem, i've mastered dat recording, and mic types and all that, mixing consoles etc, now i just gotta learn about cameras. A lot of the specs really lose me so i'm at a point where i know i need a higher end camera, but...

sorry, shaw. I didnt see your first post there. That was a big help! I had heard bad stories about certain sites so i didnt wanna just jump right in there. I do want a camera which i will be able to have all manual functions, which is pretty standard in this price range, i think. But another big...

in good old aussie dollars, i'm looking to spend up to the 6000 dollar mark. But if i can get something that suits my needs for 4000 than the rest will go on more equipment. I'm just looking to get the best possible camera for my money.

    almost there... camera question.

HAHA! i was using an XL2 the other night. Lovely thing to use. I was considering a Canon. But i've also heard good things about Sony's PD150/70 range. And some higher end panasonic cameras. Canon's have been getting good word of mouth though, how does the XL2 compare to something like a sony...

    almost there... camera question.

Now i'm getting pretty close to buying a camera. I was gonna start small, but i've just reconsidered and am thinking of just jumping in the deep end and going for some high-end consumer digital doodad. 3ccd camera. I dont know how far out of my price range HD is, or if it's even neccessary or as...

    Lets get serious about distribution

All these ideas to me seem possible. aside from having a travelling festival, it would be a guaranteed success, welles used to exhibit some of his films with a travelling roadshow. But for an indie based fest it just seems a bit out of reach. Now one idea that hasnt been touched upon concerning...

Remember that Slacker guy who was here kinda...

That was me. I'm kind of back. I really loved this community but i was a little out of my element. I stuck around, loved the shorts and the advice, but the extent of my experience was watching too many movies. Well, besides being a creepy sales person by day now, I am a film student by night...

    The Seventh Seal

finally a Bergman topic. He has to be the truly greatest european filmmaker and an extremely smart bloke to boot. I suggest you check this one out and a few of his others. truly remarkable film. Max Von Sydow is never better than when in a Bergman film.

    Episode III

Lucas didn't direct Indiana Jones. Speilberg did. Lucas is a great concept guy. He can fully realise the concept from start to finish but when it comes to writing and directing he aint nothing special.

    archived-videos "Broadband" (unofficial entry)

its really just was the whole "sit down and make a movie" approach to 1958 which i loved. Not only did you use very little camera work in that, you told a very entertaining story with very little camera work. Broadband just seemed like a strange Rod Serling meets John Woo take on the genre...

just watched this, really enjoyed it... not as much as 1958, but its good to see you dabble in many genres. Overall it was very entertaining, fantastic dialogue, and the actors did a wonderful job, good stuff.
