Golden Age - Crowd Funding Thread

Here's a thread for the crowd funding of my new feature, Golden Age. Everyone should support it, all the cool kids are. http://www.indiegogo.com/Golden-Age?a=50398&i=addr Golden Age It was dark days, the world had never been so brutal and lives had never been thrown away so much. But one day...

Script page size in the US

This may seem like a dumb question guys, but I'm not from the USA. I notice in my scriptwriting programs I can select the page size of A4 (what's used here in Australia) or US Letter. Do scripts in the USA get printed on US Letter, or in A4?

    editing getting the 'film look'

In terms of post production, if you havn't really had much experience with colour correction, you could purchase Magic Bullet Looks. Go to their website and browse over their stuff, there should be a look to suit your needs.

    Colorist Needed - Feature

I'm too busy right now, but one thing I can do is to suggest that you don't do it the way that you have planned. To colour is like to edit. You don't give an editor just part of what you shot, you give them the lot. Same goes for a colourist. Factors change throughout a shot. A colourist needs...

Who to contact for TV-show usage?

Chances are, it won't be a whole lot simpler to get permission to use footage of a TV show. Just cause it's aired by TBS, doesn't mean that you get permission from them. Get a list of what shows you want to use, and talk to TBS, they might be able to put you on the right track, this could take...

First feature, a little worried about money

This movie is 100% possible to make and don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Your biggest problem will be getting people to want to see it once it's done. One thing other thing I will say though, and I mean this in the nicest possible way, I got no idea why your budget is as high as $16,000. I...

Why Are Most Indie Film Trailers Horrible?

I think the main reason above all is simply this: There are so many terrible indie trailers, because there are so many terrible indie films.

Rules of Showing Name Brand Products in Film?

Regarding the Wham-O lawsuit, were there any Wham-O or Slip 'n Slide logos used or was just the image of it enough? The reason that I ask is that I am currently making my first feature where cars are killing people. I am removing all logos, but could I still face a lawsuit from Ford or GM? And...

cinematography Action Movies 80s 90s versus today

I love action movies of the 90's. For me not much beats the Cage triology; The Rock, Face Off and Con Air. In the 90's it was that awesome time when stunts and physical were perfected, before CGI seemed to over run everything.
