    archived-videos "Summer Falls" Comedy Short

I really liked it, I thought it was really good. Only thing I can say for next time is just maybe invest in some type of external mic to improve sound. Other than that I thought it was great. Some shots ran a bit long but I didn't get pulled out of the story because of it. Great job :)

archived-videos Sketch Comedy - Loose Lunch

That would have been an awesome touch  On topic though, I thought it was pretty funny. Like others said the first too weren't quite as funny as the last but it's all just part of the learning process. Keep it up! :)

What made you want to make films?

Well like everyone here (lol) I've always loved watching movies, and also from a young age I enjoyed writing short stories. But the actual tipper was the Canadian TV show/cartoon "Being Ian" Maybe some of you know it lol. It's about a kid who makes movies with his handheld camera, and I watched...

    Gun replicas-Canada

Right off the bat I can lend a hand. Replicas in Canada are EXTREMELY hard to get permission to use unfortunately. The closest thing you may be able to get is airsoft guns. It sucks, but that's the way our law works. Anything considered a replica firearm is illegal. You need a propmasters...

    Gun Replicas & Licences (UK)

I don't know if you've thought about this or not, but maybe use airsoft guns? The right ones look exactly like the real deal, except they won't fire blank shells so you won't get realistic shell ejections, you'd have to add that in. But yeah, with airsoft guns as long as you are away from...

What is the "big/classic" movie that you've never seen?

Still haven't seen Casablanca :S Keep telling myself I will, and never get around to it.

movies What's the last film you watched? And rate it!

Recently saw the new Transformers: Dark of the Moon. Nothing ground breaking but I think everyone knows that going in ;) The movie serves it's purpose, which is to be a fun summer movie filled with explosions and mind numbing action sequences. I was surprised though that I actually thought this...

Strangest day of filming I've ever had

I lawled And on topic, that sounds like quite the day. Nothing like a day like that, filled with stories to tell later on ;)

How can I get involved in film making before fall semester

You don't need people other than yourself to make movies, or to practice making them. In my grade 10 comm tech class, I had no friends in the class to help me (yeah, loser ;) ) so I had to do it alone. I got a 95% in that class on nothing but video projects that I made with a handheld camcorder...

    Low Budget Challenge

I'm actually going to try to do this :p. I don't know how I'll get permission for use of a squad car, but my friends dad is a cop so maybe I can get the uniforms....hmm definitely looking into it, I loved the script.

    Hilarious moments in filmmaking

Hey all, just curious as to some of your funniest filmmaking moments. Mine has to be when I was filmming an interrogation scene a long time ago. I was interrogating my brother, and was supposed to fake punch him in the face. Well I accidently punched him right in the nose. Anyway it wasn't...

Has CGI become a "bad word"?

I like CGI......sometimes. I like it when it's believable and there isn't too much (not mentioning any names *cough* Avatar *cough*).

    Reshooting old material

I recently reshot a short I did because I wanted to enter it in a competition but my computer got a virus and I lost it.. To me, it totally lost the original feeling. It just wasn't the same. I don't know, I think it's not too bad, and if it improves the overall quality then go for it, but when...

    Your facepalm moments during filmmaking

I got to direct a live news broadcast for communications tech. We had four periods (an hour and 15 min each) to practice, and then had to do it on the fifth one. Anyway, turns out, in my group, I was the only one who actually was into filmmaking. My camera people, switcher, lighting person, and...
