I've watched all three episodes now. It's watchable and I've laughed a few times :)
I think the abrupt gear changes from snappy back-and-forth to longer monologues in ep3 didn't work too well (for me anyway). Also, because it's mainly snappy back and forth in short webseries episodes, I'm...
How are you getting all these promotional gigs? Friends in high places? John Pienaar and the New Stateman are pretty impressive :P
EDIT: Just read the piece - don't really agree on Livingstone as the more I read, the more he seems to have been stitched up just like Corbyn repeatedly has, but...
Is it a short? If not, I think you're introducing the weird threat to full view a bit too soon. I'd like to get to know Bram better through his actions rather than just a few conversations before the big reveal. I think if I were writing this I'd want the viewer to really feel his frustration...
An art school reject comes face to face with evil versions of his own creations and is the only one who can stop them from [whatever they threaten to do]
Ah, I thought you might not have got that permission. The Thick of It managed to skirt around all these things by never actually mentioning party names even though we all knew what they were, but I guess it's essential here as you're dealing with the genuine party leaders (well, one party...
Anyone who's ever been to a political society event on a UK university campus will recognise all those characters instantly
Excellent stuff, and well done on not just trying to ape The Thick of It, which must have been tempting.
Just out of interest, did you have to seek permission to...
I would suggest that "their destruction" is too ambiguous - after reading the line a few times I still have no idea whether it relates to the destruction they are causing, or their own destruction (perhaps at the hands of a third party).
Nonsense. I can think of many better ways of executing the scene that would have been consistent with the general high level of the show. In such a case I would be happy to say it was done well even if I don't agree that the concept of resurrecting a main character is a good one.
Sadly, it...
Well, it happened, and it was maybe the worst TV scene I have ever seen. Really, really dreadful, especially when set against the quality in the rest of the show.
Con Man is actually a crowdfunded webseries parody of life after Firefly, so not really subject to the usual rules of network cancellation or failure. And last I heard (early April) they were in preproduction for season 2 anyway.
Looking at the etymology, the medical use of the term predates the building usage. Both senses of the word derive from a Latin word for bandage, and so "plaster" as shorthand for "sticking plaster" makes a lot of sense.
Fascinating things, words :)
Not really true. There are many professional and renowned authors who absolutely rely on good editors to get their amazing stories into coherent and grammatical shape.
I'd always rather be a good storyteller than have a perfect command of the rules though. Alas, I'm one of life's editors :(
