The power of the PC crowd

I'm with Nick. I came to say something to that effect, but he did it better than I could've. Re: Artie's FB post. I'm not familiar with the situation, but from the small bit I've read, he doesn't really provide any justification/valid argument. He says he's going to explain things he can't...

    Unstuck Production Diary

On a similar note, Sophia (who's a professional actress and by all means doesn't need the role we're giving her) became interested in the part after reading the word "confabulations" in the casting notice.

Unstuck Production Diary 2 - Good Casting Problems Thanks for the feedback guys! Nick, I get a lot of name puns, but that's my favourite so far  ____ Unstuck Production Diary 2 - Good Casting Problems When we put out the casting call for Unstuck we didn’t expect such a strong...

    Unstuck Production Diary

I've decided to start a production diary for a short I'll be shooting later this month. The piece is being collaborated on by a few IT users :) I've not done something like this before, and am unsure if people are interested in this (if there isn't much of a response I'll stop posting), but...

What's the appropriate credit for this role?

Alrighty, thanks Will. Does her role in offering some form of direction need anything other than a associative producer credit?

What's the appropriate credit for this role?

I'm shooting a film very shortly. I cowrote it with another person (person a), and cocreated it with person b. Person B and I initially conceived the story. Person B doesn't have much film experience outside acting, and didn't feel comfortable writing it, so I wrote the screenplay with Person...

Cheers Walter! (p.s. if you want to follow progress, like my fb page ;))

Where can I hire cast and crew that have no full time jobs that get in the way?

They give me their schedules, I find a time that will work for everyone, they keep that time free, we do it.

Should I pay people in post production if they do not deliver what I ask?

Yes of course shooting RAW makes it easier to grade. Not everyone has access to RAW, however. How about you post a screencap of the original footage, and his graded footage, to see if it's as bad as you're making out?

    Colorist Wanted

Hey there, I'm going into pre-production on my next short film, and I'm looking for a colorist. We're on quite a tight schedule, and I need someone available from mid-late November. I'm working on a pretty tight budget, so ideally we're looking for someone who's working to gain experience...

    Film Poster Artwork

The mix-tape itself isn't masculine at all. The scribbles and red type, however, seem fairly aggressive. If I recall, you wanted to play up the romantic/dramatic/emotional elements? The poster seems like something I'd watch, but I'd expect to be watching something angry and paranoid.

    Film Poster Artwork

Looks very nice TI! However, weren't you sating you wanted to market your film to a mostly female audience? To fall into the trap of gender stereotyping, the artwork seems quite masculine. Reminds me a lot of artwork of some of the rock bands I used to listen to (which had a 90% male audience)

Well, if we decide we need the intro, I should be able to shoot it :) Unsure about how punctual I'll be, as I still have full time work, and I've just got a job editing a web series on the side through December. But I'll only need one free day and a spare set of hands, so it should be...

Walter, what was the stuff you wanted me to shoot/record? Skimmed back through the thread, but couldn't find it. I am currently in pre-production for my own project, which needs to be finished before December - so that's quite busy. Alongside that I have exams and work. Once that's done, I'll be...

archived-videos The Boy Who Couldn't Even Afford a Milkshake

Perhaps! I don't think it's an unimportant issue (in fact, I am fairly active in student politics) but the restrictions on how we could shoot it made it uninspiring to me - I think there could've been far more interesting ways to tell that story.

Yeah fair call. Honestly wasn't inspired by the subject matter either, I tried my best to make it a bit more engaging, but yeah. Agree on lighting. Re: cutaways - generally I agree. But I did intentionally hold on the subject for a bit longer on some takes. He speaks quite monotonously, and...

Hey thanks Maz, I really appreciate that :) I guess I (and everyone else) gets caught up in their work and can only see the stuff they dislike. It's nice to hear that it held your attention.
