Thanks for all the tips. I ended up buying the ME66/K6 with the Tascam DR-40. I will probably go with the NT3 next for indoor shots.

I just get stressed out because everything that is said and suggested to me seems to give me only "passable" audio. Is there any combination of mics/recorders under $1000 I can get that will give me excellent or simply good audio.

Thank you for the reply.. Now, I have a good boom pole and shock mount and wind protection. So you are telling me that a good shotgun mic will be useless with a budget recorder? Also, why the NTG-1? Really I am just curious because I figured that those are just average sounding mics.

Ok dude your killing how your always so off. Let'stry this again. 1920 by 1080 is 1080p. 1280 by 720 is 720p. You keep mixing up the position of those and that makes you look amateur, not the quality of it.

Oh yeah I totally agree with you, having a heavy monitor on one side and a mic on the other is not smart at all. But he may end up using it for something else like a mic and a small LED light. Just helping out.
