Interactive Movies: Would you like to make one?

There was a phase in cinema history where they tried to make interactive movies. There were theaters that had chairs the bounced at scary parts and they had people in costumes run down the isles. There was even a scratch and sniff movie where you were given a card and had to scratch a section...

    Just wanted to Introduce Myself

:welcome: I live in Asheville, NC which probably isn't close enough for collaboration, but I'm always happy to help as is everyone here.

No Spot for Me in Indies!

Do you have a subscription to the Florida Blue Sheet? It's a great resource. In my experience one of the big problems with Florida is that most major productions come there instead of originating there; so they bring everyone and everything with them. They usually have a full cast and crew...

What came first the cast or the crew?

:scared: Clive, I don't know how long you've had this new avatar, but it's freaking me out.

What came first the cast or the crew?

I generally have my crew squared away first and cast last. I've known people to go the other way around. In independent film I think it's just a get what you can while you can kinda thing. The big fat important thing you need before you do either of those is a tight schedule with rain days...

    Webpage templates?

Here are some HTML basics to get you started: <br> is break, it's like a hard return <img="file name"> for putting a picture on your page <a href="file name">text or picture that you want to link here</a> is how you make a link <center>object here</center> will center your object on the page...

    Webpage templates?

You can find a decent book on HTML in a library and teach yourself for $0. That will get you going with a simple site. Really flashy sites (no pun intened) can be nice, but sometimes they get to be too much. Start simple and then if you decide that you really do need more, that might be the...

    Greetings from sunny Florida!

I grew up in Gainesville, went to school at P.K. Yonge and SFCC, but I had to go to Orlando to attend film school, there just wasn't anything in Gainesville at the time. How the doc program coming at UF?

tv NEw Tv show idea what do you think?

I like the idea and I like what you are trying to do. I think there can be a lot of drama in pulling someone out of the gutter and helping them get set up on thier own. I'm afraid a month in a hotel wouldn't be enough though. It seems like you're just getting them on thier feet then yanking...

    Your Experience at a Fest

I had a film in the Ft. Lauderdale International Film Festival and I attended. I was in the student portion which was only like a week, the whole festival runs for like a month, it's very long. It's huge, when I went they made everyone, even filmmakers, buy passes. There was a big opening...

    16mm or...

Iris, I'm guessing you're doing a summer program with the New York Film Academy. I worked for them for a few years in their Orlando based program. If I guessed right and you want to know more, send me a personal message. I'm a film snob. I'm not afraid to admit it. So of course I'm going to...

    Looking for research material

The American Cinematpgrapher's Manual. I think the ninth edition is the latest and greatest, but if you're getting an older 16mm camera you can probably get an older edition of the manual (and the older ones will be much cheaper.) I have a fourth edition and I still use it. Not only does it...

Need a website for your film? Worked with WB & Sony.

Can I just say wow! I love your site. I especially love how most of your information moves horizontally instead of vertically. I actually sat there and ran my mouse up and down your links to watch the mouse over. My hat's off to you guys.

    EyeCapture Productions Website now up.

The good: I like the imagry and the simplicity. I'm a fan of less is more. You have conveyed a good amount of information with very little clutter. The top banner is very spiffy looking too. The not as good: Your title "Eye Capture Productions" is rather small. Perhaps you could (at least...

Science Fiction - where does it go?

A lot of horror film festivals have catagories for science fiction and fantasy. Try doing a search on yahoo for horror film festivals then just check out the sites to see who also wants science fiction.

Sad Only 5 submissions, and 1 is mine?

I'm sending you six of my shorts on DVD (1 western, 1 documentary, 1 drama, and a series of 3 comedy shorts) That should last you a little while. May I make a suggestion? Perhaps you could review the films you air, if only online and have a site set up just for the show with a list...

    film-school DVD Film School

For educational purposes, some DVDs I would recommend are: THE MATRIX - The bonus features are great and though there's no director's commentary there is a thing where you can press a button when an icon comes to the screen and see more behind the scenes stuff about that particular scene...
