Thanks for the reply. Got to say, you did great with the visuals. And all with a T2i - very nice indeed. Smart move doing the pre-shoot tests. Too many first time directors go straight into shooting - with little or no prep. You have talent, looking forward to seeing other work of yours. :)

Great piece of kit but that's one hell of a price. Interestingly if you buy a Sony Alpha a7S, the only way to capture 4k is via the Shogun. You cannot capture 4k internally (in-Camera via card). That's $2,500 for the Sony and $2,000 or so for the Shogun, total: $4,500 or so! :no...

Always submit to good festivals local to your area. If you're able to personally get to know some of the staff, that may well help your chances as well. You could also try us: we're small at present but growing. :)

Some pretty damn impressive visuals there. And shot on just a Canon T2i. Nicely done. Can you recall the aperture and ISO settings you used? That was surprisingly good low light performance for a budget DSLR (T2i) and your lenses: Canon 40mm 2.8 lens, Tamron 10-24mm lens Well done.

Worst case: imagine someone gets injured on set and sues you. Hence the need for insurance. Do some risk it and not buy insurance? Sure they do? Do some regret it? I'm sure they do. You don't need a permit to film in a privately owned location.

True. Got to say though that the 2004 Battlestar Galactica reboot blew me away. I loved the original series (1978). The 2004 reboot changed a lot from the original story and added greatly to it. Great series.

I would strongly advise you buy an external hard drive - USB3 or Thunderbolt 2. Imagine having just to keep the takes you like then finding out later that you picked a poor take or need a cut from a scene you do not have... Or your laptop simply dies on you, or grinds to a halt. This thread...
