    Filming for DVD distribution?

The Search does not allow you to search on DVD - string is too short: You can get round that with: In google.com search bar type: site:indietalk.com dvd E.g. https://www.google.ca/?gws_rd=ssl#q=site:indietalk.com+dvd I found these threads on writing to DVD, bitrates etc - some will be...

archived-videos Just need Feedback on this music video =)))

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6PAQKeDTHs4 For me the sharpness (I would increase it) and the lighting were things I would change. But that's me - others may love the lack of sharpness and the lighting as is. A good effort. Well done. :)

Financial viability of my new project.

My experience with such things is that: Those featured in the movie will 100% buy a copy (or more) of the DVD. Those with similar cars as to those featured may buy a copy of the DVD. Those who are very active members of the club may buy a copy of the DVD. So there are a lot of mays in...

    archived-videos Happy - A short film

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=34t-tCFRukI Congrads on completing your short. Many people complain they do not have the cast or crew to make a Short. I always say: just shoot. The more practice you get, the better. You did this with limited budget and limited cast and crew. Well done.

    archived-videos my Filmmaker reel 2014

Some very impressive visuals in there. The visuals only came on at the 28 second mark which for a demo reel is far too late. Also at nearly 3 mins 40 seconds, it is long. As I said, some great visuals though. Congrads.

    Best Shotgun Mic?

Good advice. The most frequent issue we come across with submissions to our festival is poor audio. Poor audio is an audience killer, much more so than poor visuals.

Is it a good idea to shoot a feature in a foreign language to save money?

Shoot a Short local to you. You want to keep costs down. You're not shooting the latest James Bond or other Hollywood epic. And South Korea is not cheap. We have seen great shorts shot on ultra low budgets (think sub $1,000). Your plan will cost you big $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$. And...

How Short Should Your Short Film Be?

It's worth noting that some festivals limit the length of Shorts to sub-20 mins, e.g. to enter Cannes (exceptionally tough to place) your Short has to be 15 mins or less.

    Film club in my city

Sadly this can happen all too frequently. Try to rise above it, be sociable and treat others as you would want to be treated yourself. At the core of this industry is networking - many opportunities can come your way via good contacts. Ditto crew and talent. Makes sense to me. Even if that...

    Starting a new screenplay?

Read some good Hollywood screenplays first. Then decide on whether to write your own screenplay. I'd advise writing a 10-15 page Short first. Get it made. Go onwards from there. An original idea is key. Ditto writing a compelling story in 10-15 pages.

    How Actors see our script

To be honest it doesn't matter how actors see your script. Just work your hardest to write the best script you possibly can. That's the most you can do. Hopefully it will be good and the talent will recognize that. :)
