    David Lynch goes DV

Lynch has shot a few short films on dv and you can find them on www.davidlynch.com but this time he has decided to shoot a whole feature from what I understand. In the article Lynch says dv is different and it reminds him of early 35mm that didn't have tight grain. He says, "When you have a...

Why does the camera have to be up on the balcony? If you were able to get different angles I believe you would get a much better result.

    shooting in HUGE warehouse/radio studio

haha great ideas guys. After hearing these suggestions it looks like i will be making more films then I expected... I particually like the paranoid 'The Thing' idea by filmjumper. I guess that would work well in covering as much of the warehouse as I wanted. I don't know if any of you have seen...

    shooting in HUGE warehouse/radio studio

Big news for me guys, I have a massive ex-radio station available to film in. It consists of 8 or so small rooms, an orange kitchen, bathroom, 2 main recording rooms (complete with sound proofing and re-enforced doors) and 2 large warehouse style rooms and much more. It has wide warehouse...

So what did you do this week? (end 06/12)

speaking of Pantera..... I borrowed a great little ibanez pedal for my guitar this weekend and now everything I play sounds like a cheesy 80's song. I could record some 80's style riffs for a short film but i'm sure there are enough of them around.

cinematography Cinematography, tricks that bug you...

That's the crazy dolly zoom i was talking about. I admit it looks good in the right place but i think it is a bit of a clichè. Another movie off the top of my head that used the crazy dolly zoom would be Jaws when the paranoid lifeguard stares in terror at the helpless boy being devoured by the...

When filming, please inform the police.

I guess fellow indie filmmakers should learn a lesson or two from this, you want realitic police shoot out, hire a crane, shoot criminal actors infront of the most likely location for swat team to arrive, get your grandma to tip off the cops and have the script written to leave room for...

Getting an MPAA rating on your film?

Would it be possible to get a rating for films under 1.5 mil or can't they be bothered to look at a $2000 film for example
