lighting Photography tips / Lighting Tricks

I basically use the second method the guy in richy's video talks about. I do a lot of nature and wildlife shots, so I pretty much never have the chance to set up any sort of lighting and have to judge it based on how it looks in the viewer. example Amusingly I've never heard of a light meter...

The Hobbit will be a trilogy...

LOTR had a lot of crap and diarrhea of the typewriter to sift through, so keeping it down to 3 movies was a good thing. The Hobbit though? Man, I really don't see how it needs a trilogy at all.

    Any thoughts on development hell?

I'm not sure where you're getting this idea about standard agreements from, but I don't see why the original IP holders would shoot themselves in the foot like that. If you're talking about a famous property like Lord of the Rings, (for example) the owners aren't just going to sign an agreement...

    Any thoughts on development hell?

Maybe the director doesn't have the time to do the project. Maybe the studio blew its wad on special effects and now they're up to their eyeballs in debt. Maybe it's corporate bureaucracy. I wouldn't count on being able to pick up anything famous for a song and dance at any rate, because you'd...

    Useful College Courses/Minor

I wouldn't say business classes are necessary, but there's a lot of bullshit out there. If you're not skeptical of everything you hear you're probably best off taking at least an intro course.

    archived-videos Schitzophrenic Man Rapes Himself

The title alone gives me the impression he's trying too hard. It has less to do with being offended and more of a kneejerk reaction that he's probably an unfunny hack.

The title alone makes me not want to click it and think it probably came out of 4chan.

    Useful College Courses/Minor

I was working on an Associate's in Mechanical Design until it started getting too expensive, though any sort of 3D modeling skill is a nice thing to put on your resume. (Solidworks is a great bit of software but prohibitively expensive for hobbyists.)

Some basic technical knowledge that we must know.

You can get a number of cheap HD camcorders for under $300 at places like Best Buy. I really don't get the whole "DSLR for filming" craze that seems to have taken off lately.

Some basic technical knowledge that we must know.

It depends on the context but I'm assuming 16mm, 35mm and 70mm refers to film size, and not lens focal length. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/70_mm_film http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/16_mm_film http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/16_mm_film#Super_16_mm http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/35_mm_film

Do they make camera support gear that can do this?

How much to hire a ghost writer?

I think you'd get a better response if you ask them what their rates are, then explain how much you have to work with and see if they'll negotiate.

    LOOKING FOR PRODUCER!!!

You could always learn? If you're making a low/no budget film you probably have to fill all sorts of roles on your own already.
