    Twist Endings

Flashbacks are indeed frequently overused but done right they can be great. But you can have a great twist without a flashback as well. My opinion of twists: love them. Most audience members do. Just go a good one. Not the type of 'twist' that ended the TV series Lost.

Should I choose such a setting?

You have lots of good advice from the posters above. My dollar's worth... Do whatever is best for your story. If that is a smaller town that no one may have heard of then fair enough. But if the town/city plays a prominent role then you may want one that people will likely have heard of -...

GoPro HERO3+ Silver Edition- Is it worth it?

The Black comes with the remote control ($80 when sold separately) which is much inferior to the excellent (and free) Go Pro app that can be installed on a smart phone or tablet and lets you view the Go Pro (white, silver or black models) feed as well as remotely control it. As well as what DIY...

    archived-videos My 2013/2014 showreel

I would only include the shots that look really really good, those that make you go wow... You have plenty of those: free running, bike clip, band sunset shot, some of the radio controlled car shots etc. What did not 'wow' me: the underwater shots, the house party shots, the walk in nature...

    Will Hollywood read my Script?

Directorik's points are 100% valid. You would be wise to listen to him. My opinion: it is very difficult to get your script read by agents, prodcos etc in Hollywood. Getting an agent/manager is not easy. Spec script sales are low, so agents are very selective as to who they take on. Unless...

Coming up with a title for your "baby"

Sure, my answer was to brainstorm, think out-of-the-box and talk to family and friends regarding possible title ideas.

    Buying used camera stuff

The BMPC is a great camera but only go that route if you are keen to do a lot of post production work - particularly color grading. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rAgPaiLgeE4 If finances are tight, stick to what you have and simply make more shorts, get more experience.

Write To Your Budget With Quentin Tarantino

Good post FantasySciFi, lots of good advice there. FantasySciFi's point was correct, and your clarification makes your point correct - as you say you can include flashbacks, broadcasts etc in your script be it a spec script or shooting. And indeed they are not transitions. I would warn though...

Write To Your Budget With Quentin Tarantino

Just a note, Tarantino scripts are typically very verbose - well over 110 pages. He goes into a lot of detail that would kill most newbie writers chances. The 110 page limit for spec scripts is recommended by many. Why? It's due to the one-page-per-minute guideline. So 110 page script is...

    Near miss car scene

The guys on Film Riot had an episode were they explained how to film car chases. Do a search on their youtube channel. Have you a GoPro that you can attach to a car - that gives you lots of additional options. I'd watch some of the Bourne chase scenes and see how they amp up the...
