Cross Fingers! We find out tomorrow if our first short gets accepted!

Boo, it didn't make it. Ah well the silver lining is we can release it earlier as we aren't waiting for the festival to premier it!

    Replacing the lead actor

Re-cast for sure, reshoot if you can, and learn how write quips so that you can kill off characters are replacement them equivalents. First movie I killed off the lead actress's character cause I knew no way was she doing to film a sequel with us... Just how I roll.

    Am I being screwed here?

Okay, so you made a mistake by not getting his release in writing. Here is how I would play it... 1. I would discuss with him his wants with the position that there is no deal if I don't have the rights and releases in the agreement. Him wanting PP is off the table because I would not have...

Cross Fingers! We find out tomorrow if our first short gets accepted!

A bunch of friends and I made a 13 minute short called "Who's in the Cage Now?" and submitted it to OIFF (Ottawa International Film Festival) which for us is a local film fest. Tomorrow they announce who's in and who's out, so crossing our fingers we get accepted!

    Filmmaking without a Script

Good info guys, looks like next weekend we are shooting another one (This time my friend Mike is overseeing the production) so I don't have all the details yet other than once again I may be acting a small bit in addition to the scene set-up and camera work.

    Filmmaking without a Script

So a group of us got together and just filmed a short (then submitted it to the local film festival) sans-script where everything was generated on the spot. Some scenes took a few takes (each take being different than the last) but it ended up being quite good. Just wondering who else may shot...

    My Zombie series

No one really cares why there are Zombies... just the "rules" your zombies play by... - Bites, or is it scapes touch or if you die your a zombie - how fast do they move - what kills them (headshot only?)

Script finished, now should I trust people with my script?

I've been on the opposite side, looking for a short (I make movies for fun) and having to deal with writers who are so paranoid that I'm going to steal their idea and make millions from it. So I've ended up writing my own stuff because its just not worth the hassle (it takes me less time to...

That video goes to show, it's not the equipment that makes the film, it's the filmmaker (and his hoard of minions) Uber well done!

editing How do I fix blue screen error

If there is low blur then I would recommend rotoscoping your subject. However it would be best to show us a frame from the video blue screen untouched so we can judge how bad is bad.

Need producers in Montreal, Quebec, Canada for a horror movie

Is the script done? Silly question. Someone else asked and yet no answer. And from the list of characters you name (which are mainly talented big named actors BTW) Does your script really back that up or is it fan-fiction? As for geography I'm in Ottawa, as for movie budgets a no-budget film...

DVD industry in crisis as sales slump

I'm almost exclusively watching movies on Netflix (and in theaters a couple times a month). On Netflix I watch a ton of indie stuff, some good some downright awful. But I know I'm not the typical viewer but for $8 a month, its so much cheaper than buying one DVD of something current. I think...
