    CONTINUED is no longer used?

Well as long as the pages are numbered there should be no isssue with understanding what's going on. I normally format my screenplays so it doesn't carry over. So far I've had no issues.

I have just finised my first script, I think.

At the end of the day you have to ask yourself what is more important. If you're in a relationship and you're worried about it affecting that, talk to the person you're with. If you let them know how much film is a part of your life I'm sure they'll accept it. I talked about my ambitions to my...

    NEED some opinions

Read some Terry Pratchett Novels. The character of Death is brilliant in them. Soul Music is a good one. Death gives up and tries to forget about being Death, so his Grand daughter has to take over. Then there's Mort which is actually about an apprentice to Death.

    NEED some opinions

My college tutor (the greatest mentor in my life so far) told me to go for the ideas I want no matter how big they may be. Then work out how to do them later. If you try to make an idea based on what you think you have, then it will become dilluted. Aiming low won't get you noticed. You won't...

archived-videos New indie made feature comedy film

I think what lets this down is the production quality. If this was filmed with a more high resolution camera it would be better. I found the cheesy characters amusing, a bit Peter Kay, Reeves and Mortimer. Very British comedy, probably won't mean as much to people outside the UK. It reminded me...

    editing Screening out white backgrounds

Keying out the colour is what you'd do. If you have Song Vegas for example, take either the green or blue keyer and apply it. Then simply change the keying colour to white. I won't look perfect at first, you have to mess around with the levels and maybe adjust the contrast.

You could use some liquid latex to build up a wound.

    Gunshot Effects

That program can produce some good effects if you're on a tight budget. But it's probably in the long run worth holding out and buying After effects when you can afford it. You could try getting some airsoft guns as has been sugested to me in the past. A lot of them have realistic gun actions...

Reality TV show in the making... But have questions.

Just try simply asking, you never know if you don't ask. If you get given permission then it seems unlikely you'll be sued.

    Director goggles?

Yeah it's an interesting film. If you're interested in that era of cinema you'll probably like it. You get a bit of an insight into what film production was like then. It probably would make sense that they were for protection from lights. If one lense is tinted and the other isn't, then they'd...

    Fake Blood

Corn syrup, flour, food colouring and baby oil. I seem to remember making a good fake blood from those ingredients. Can't remember the ammounts though. When colouring add in one drop of blue or green colour. Gives a more realistic colour. For black and white film you could follow in the...

    Director goggles?

Thanks that kind of gives me a better idea of what it could be. I had noticed the lab coates too and that they called Murnau doctor. I've done a lot of research on him and hadn't noticed anywhere saying he had a doctorate. I expect you're right and a lot of it is artistic interpretation.

    Director goggles?

I don't know if any of you have seen the film 'Shadow of the Vampire' about the 1920's production of FW Murnau's 'Nosferatu'. In the film I noticed that Murnau and the camera crew were wearing these goggles (as in the image above) while filming. Was there any practical purpose to these goggles...

I use Sony Vegas for editing. It's not too expensive as editing programs go and I found it quite easy to learn.

Photography Student/Drama Student/Aspiring Filmmaker in the UK.

Hi good to see another Uk person. Welcome hope you learn something of use here. I saw you're film. Experimental films are often strange by definition. One thing I'd say is lay off the computer video effects, there were too many on some shots. Generally just use them to make slight adjustments...

Are camera angels and terms necessary for spec scripts.

I see what you're saying. No I supose it's not vital to the story. The scene is just not as interesting without it. But It's not important. Thanks for your advice I think I can work things out. Sorry for hijacking this thread.

Are camera angels and terms necessary for spec scripts.

Thanks. I was aware that you don't usually include shot directions. I'd just heard there were certain circumstances that it was ok. I see what you're saying. Even though it's a screenplay I'm intending film, I'll take out the shot directions.

    editing Multiple Angles one Camera?

Well you can cut video independantly of audio in editing. So you can run audio of one character's dialogue so it goes over into another shot. Just cut out the unneeded parts and leave the audio the run across.
