Anyone want to view and review my attempt at using a pornography as B-roll footage?

B-roll is actually a TV term. Footage that is shot separately (time/location) of the main footage. It refers to "filler" footage that typically doesn't include main cast or content. For one example let's say a host/guest is talking to the camera/audience about a manufacturing facility. While...

can we all agree the problem with indie films is lack ofstory andwriting?

None-the-less budget is unequivocally and specifically what the majority of active/inquisitive users here are referring to when they say "independent" - In fact it's the basis of the entire forum. I'd argue not-a-one active forum user here signed up to talk about multi-million dollar productions...

    Best Magical Gloves

Good, less SFX work. Even better then to go with a practical prop until its time for it to pop. Cool, makes sense in your context, but I wasn't privvy. And still by no means indicates that "If you need to be voluntary with armor that defeats half the purpose" which I hope I demonstrated was...

    Best Magical Gloves

No worries man, I just didn't want you calling my boy Colossus stupid ;) My biggest concern with your project is its scope which typically, at the indie level, directly equates to either never being realized or being realized and looking like a preschool cartoon super imposed over some iPhone...

    Best Magical Gloves

Hmmm... let me rephrase. What I am contemplating is why you are admittedly experiencing technical inadequacies or curiosity (which is all good) about masking some gloves when you are so well versed in how to implement "full CGI" for another part of your project? Or are you saying you wanted to...

editing Who to hire to design end credits/title

Here is just one of many out there, click around a bit: https://youtu.be/AYKBEK9luY0 Remember font choice and scroll speed are an entirely different matter and need to be considered carefully. I wouldn't use any of the tutorials as advice on those aspects, strictly on the how to.

editing Who to hire to design end credits/title

Yep. To pile on you can knock out the run-o-the-mill scrolling credits that you see in a great deal of films (and often to a far better degree if you do things like pick legible geometric sans-serif fonts) in about an hour from right within the Premiere titler. When I do more stylized or...

    Best Magical Gloves

OK it may not be the initial vision you had (not bulky or long), but thanks to the mainstreaming of tattoo culture (I played a major part in that btw, a discussion for another day) there are some pretty slick "flat" black surgical gloves (developed for tattoo artists). They look cool, they are...

can we all agree the problem with indie films is lack ofstory andwriting?

I actually know what you mean by this on both levels... #1) Careful, definitions are a big deal 'round these parts, even antiquated ones. It sucks but you might have to qualify every question or statement by using things like "independent films made on a shoe string budget" or "independent...

    Best Magical Gloves

OK I'll bite. It turns out that a special glove is very relevant to one of my WIP universes, hence my indietalk handle. First off your color choice for keying isn't really all that important. If we take the Walking Dead for example Michonne's pets used blue masking for their arms, but her...

archived-videos Lazarus Rising Trailer [Action/ Crime]

It most likely all started with my boy Anger's "Lucifer Rising" - The imagery/Music in that film still gives me tingles... what a trip. But sfoster I know you are not giving anyone crap about their title right now :) - I mean after all isn't an overused word in a title a step above an actually...

Luckily I didn't have to read very far into this thread to comment. Sweetie nailed it. and unwatchable.

LOL! To expand a bit more on my commentary we found we needed to use far more smoke than we ever thought to show up on camera in the smaller amount we envisioned. I've got a whole disaster story about a very uncooperative smoking barrel.

    Dated premise

Personally, the premise is what I more or less simply consider the logline. I can think of "specific" premises that could be outdated... "Before the hero can thwart his nefarious plans a villain ties a damsel in distress to the railroad tracks" or "Fauna meets atomic radiation/waste and grows...

    Dated premise

By all means take a chance on "outdated". The real kiss of death is "overused".
