    editing Confusion!

PC or Mac? So tell me... How big are the video and audio files? How much space is on the blank DVD? It would help if you could quote the error as it reads or maybe paste a screenie of it.

archived-videos A variation on a theme: Plato's Allegory of the Cave

Thanks knightly and LOC. If I promise not to hate you, would anyone like to tell me where I need to improve? I know it's not an easy thing but if you have an interest in helping a filmmaker improve his craft I'd appreciate it.

    My Heart is Heavy

Things like that are never easy. I'm sorry Poke and mdifilm, one of the many problems of being human.

    Anything wrong with this script?

Well it's not really a script is it? This is like the first part of act one. I can't really give an honest opinion of something that happens later. From what you've told me this opening is just that, an opening. Do you have more written?

    Rocky or Bond?

Interesting article in this months Script magazine. Just wondering how you all feel. Every protagonist is either Rocky Balboa or James Bond. Figure out which one, then focus on it and keep it as the main 'spine' of your story. The rest will take care of itself. The article says a lot more than...

archived-videos A variation on a theme: Plato's Allegory of the Cave

Thanks for the kind words guys. Plato also has an "Allegory of the Sun" where he gets into gods and religion, I think I'll do a follow up with that one.

    Post your Youtube link!

I agree with LOC, that licsense paints way too broad a stroke for me as well. Though I think it's good to have a YouTube or MySpace presence, the work around is to put up trailers only and link to your real web site.

archived-videos A variation on a theme: Plato's Allegory of the Cave

A comedy (I hope). We did this for the DVi message board's DV Challenge #6. The theme was 'The Sun'. I hope you enjoy it. Please understand that I am a budding director and I would really appricate tough constructive criticism. Thanks for any help you care to offer...

    General Filmmaking questions.

Everyone does things differently. That's a good thing. Watch, read, learn, adapt for yourself. Don't get caught up in what's the right way to do things because there is no right way. There's what looks good and what doesn't. In the end, if it doesn't look good then you need to try something...
