Thoughts on the minimalist Approach to Website for independent film

Well that's pretty conclusive. Reminds me of a friend of mine who as the manager of a five star hotel was called in as a witness on a counterfeit money case. Some guests tried to pay the bill with the dodgy foreign money. The lawyer for the counterfeiter tried to discredit my friend by asking...

    R.I.P. AMY

It's a great shame. She must have been quite tortured to be so self destructive. It's a sad thing for her family, friends and fans. She looked really healthy when she first broke but the last few years were like watching a sad train wreck.

Any Gerry Anderson Fans Out There?

Man I loved Thunderbirds as a kid. It was on TV at 6am six days a week and was the way I started my day.

    sound Recording Tips?

Is it purely a sound quality problem you're talking about? You need a good pre-amp. You need a good soundcard. You need good monitoring speakers. If you are putting a mic in front of those amps you need a decent mic. For acoustic guitars you need a more than decent mic and careful mic...

    Good production/royalty free music sites?

I’m not sure of the mainstream places you are talking about but royalties are not complicated unless those companies are making up their own license rules. You should be able to get licensed music without having to pay recurring costs. Royalties for music in film and TV are paid by the...

    Good production/royalty free music sites?

Why royalty free? Royalties to a composer do not come out of the film makers pocket.

Films like "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?"?

And also have a look at Cat on a Hot Tin Roof.

Films like "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?"?

There is a fantastic Hitchcock film called Rope with only a few characters all set in one room. In fact there are very few edits. I think the edits happen every eight minutes or so because that was the limit of film in a camera.

sound Acquring Rights to Cover a Song

You can cover any song you like and release it for sale as long as the proper royalties are paid ( no permission needed) but as soon as you sync it up to your movie you need a sync license. No need to contact the record company because you are not wanting to obtain rights to the original...

    Am I being screwed here?

Zensteve has said it twice and I'm going to make it thrice. Either give this DP the director credit or spend a few $ and book 30 min with an entertainment Lawyer and find out your rights from a professional.

sound Getting music that fits the tone.

Bang on Alcove. For me the thing that separates a good director from a bad director is the ability to be decisive. Harmonica44. The answer for you depends on the plot and the pace of the action and edit but from what you've described I would go with faster paced music that climaxed with slower...

sound Question about how synthesizers work for very low budget.

I think there will be many people out there who are a good fit for a budget jazz film score. Since I think you're still writing the script you hve a long time to find this person. If I were you I'd be looking for someone with a jazz background looking for film scoring experience. There are so...
