archived-videos 3 Minute Film - 'The Waiting Room'

Liked the idea and it looks good. My only `complaint` is the sound. I think the echo on the narration was a bit strong and the music was a bit too loud to hear the words properly. Good film otherwise . Nice to see a film from the granite city.

movies What's the last film you watched? And rate it!

Just finished watching `Children of men`. Wonder how I have missed that one in the past. Great film and I even liked Clive Owen it in. Hated him in King Arthur though, actually didn't like that movie full stop, except for the music

Movie that made you want to make films?

Mine wasn't a film. I read a book about George Melies at school when I was 15, many many years ago now. I loved his ideas with making things appear and disappear on film. I got a super 8 camera a few months later and started making my own little shorts. My first involved a magician making...

    editing Are they called animators?

the story of the Deathly Hallows (the 3 wizards who cheated death) was my favourite sequence in that film. I love that kind of animation. The last `Karate kid` movie had something like that in as well if I remember correctly.

Watching it now, looks very well done. At least one dialogue board passed to quickly though and I couldn't see what it read. Where was this filmed and what set up did you use?

How cheaply can I make miniatures?

I used to have the airfix kit of the Hawk craft from this series. If memory serves it was approx 1-2 feet long. You can still get it on ebay from time to time. I much prefer the use of miniatures over cgi. A more recent film to use them is the Duncan Jones film` Moon` The harvesters on the...

How cheaply can I make miniatures?

The miniatures that cost 3.5k all those years ago were so expensive as they were made from costly materials to make the ships very durable. This was because they would be used over many episodes. I think you could make miniatures of your own quite cheaply using, as they did, cheap kits to...

    Favorite Films Sub-Forum

Spirited away was great and I dont like cartoon animation. Have no problem with computer animation and love puppet animation, except muppets, but cartoons leaves me cold for some reason. maybe I overdosed on scooby doo and Tom and Jerry etc when I was a nipper. Master and commander would be in...
