Look, once a cheque arrives, as far as I am concerned the director can do what the f**k he want with it. If he wants to have Britney Spears playing Obama, backed by a choir of tapdancing midget aliens, I don't give a damn, but in the original work I amsimply trying to create a specific story...

critique anyone want to critique the first act of my scifi thriller?

I can read PDF's, but I cannot read it through that system. All I get is thetop of the title page. Another guy on here used another system that worked just fine for his PDF. At root is the fundametnal conept that there are only two types of screenwriters in the world... 1. Those that don't...

SIX - in another interview for th epost of Computer Manager, the interviewer first wuestion was to ask me to take my shirt off to take a look at me. I refused. So he, there and then, told me that I was "no use to him" and told me to leave. SEVEN - In another company, I was asked to be there by...

Actually, you would be surprised what happens in a job interview. Here are some of the lunatic things that HAVE ACTUALLY happened to me:- ONE - In the 1980's, I went for an interview with Liberty of London, a department tore - it was in the manager's office by a busy street. he had the window...

Look, why do you think "cut to the chase" comes straight from the world of screenwriting? You need to sledgehammer the reader with someone or something WOW in the first page, not have a chat about dismal failure... unless of course its with some guy like the one out of No Country For Old Men...

Into the moon - draft - first 5 pages

    1. Get is poor diction and should NEVER be used outside of dialogue and even avoided there if possible. 2. Specifying a copyrighted song makes studios bolt for the door - you're writing a blank cheque to Nivana on their bank account in effect. 3. Same problem as above with AC/DC T-shirt. 4...

1st Draft - Any and all feedback is welcome… even the crazy stuff.

ANSWER: 100% TOTAL FAILURE Screenwriting RUle 101: Have your screenplay in a format that a studio can or they'll put it in the can. All I get is the title page. Complain about my old software as much as you like but some small production compaies are cash-strapped and have old software. Send...

:no::no::no::no: ANSWER: AGAIN TOTAL 100% FAILURE If a production company can't open it, its dead meat. End of project there and then. RULE 101 - Have it in a format that people can read - all I'm getting is the front page.

critique anyone want to critique the first act of my scifi thriller?

100% TOTAL FAILURE!!! Why? Breaks Rule 101 of screenwriting - Have it in a readible format. I CANNOT OPEN IT BEYOND THE TITLE PAGE. So, you might complain about my aging system, but many small production companies are cash-strapped and might not have the most up-to-date software. So, send...

"It's (film title) meets (film title)"?

Why not be honest and put it this way... "I can't write" meets "someone else's idea" ...because that is what it looks like, and probably to a studio as well.

MONUMENTAL 100% TOTAL FAIL!!!! SCREENWRITING RULE 101 - Have your screenplay in a format that a studio or reader can ACTUALLY read it. Remember, many small production companies are cash-strapped and might be using old software. When I tried to look at it is merely flashed "You are usign an...

Could anyone give me feedback on this short script (14 pg) I plan on directing?

EXCREMENTAL IN THE EXTREME Why? It breaks the absolutely cast iron rule 101 Of Screenwriting... Have your PDF in a format that people can use. All I get when I tried to look at it was the words "VALET A screenpaly by" NOTHING ELSE WILL DOWNLOAD nor is accessible. Whilst you can complain...

Hi, the Overhead declaration is actually the very first and pretty much the very last line in the script so it should not disrupt the flow. They are necessary as the end of the screenplay needs to mirror the start with everything, effectively running backwards.

Potentially DISASTEROUS. FIrstly and DO NOT TAKE THIS LIGHTLY... you are using a PDF format that does nto work properly. Many agents, writers etc use their own pet Final Draft and such software which may be out of date. I used Final Draft 6 on a computer that stopped production about 10 years...

Hi! I realise that I am putting my head in the lion's mouth here, as everyone will shreik "DON'T PUT CAMERA ANGLES IN A SPEC SCRIPT", but where the entire story rests upon two specific camera angles, I do actually have to specify these two shots. (Don't worry, there are indeed ONLY two camera...
