archived-videos My Very First Short Film (New to forum)

Nice job Chaz. The truth about the male species... when they're underdeveloped, remaining retards though out their whole lives. The film works perfectly when he enters the barn.

Aww, the one moment is so cute when she turns to the camera: "Impossibile resistere alla tentazione."

Oh, you Rok are the maker, Mr. Schelesny. Wasn't sure what your role in this production might be, at first. Love the effects. The bubbling sound a few seconds in is my favorite, together with the car's take off from the peir... and landing obviously. Good storyboard work there. This is one of...

Business vs Creative Decisions in a Script

No, don't go down that route. That's overthinking. Write a script that you would produce. Why would you produce it? Because you see how it would make its money back.

    First look deal

Weird book. Google it and it says the same... plus: or right of first offer (also called a right of first negotiation)

editing Price of hiring an editor

He-he, good one mad hatter. Love how you set up that joke "got lost in the mix". I see a possibility that many editing related questions would be broadly discussed here during those years. Sorry H44.

editing Price of hiring an editor

Nice discussion folks. I've recently rediscovered my love for editing, because the stuff I've edited has been just enough poorly written, that it has been a huge challenge to save. Love that. Then you feel needed as an editor. About hiring someone or not. I'd have to say that it all depends on...

    New to screenwriting

He-he. Too much stuff, eh? Seems you need to decide whom you're writing for and then adjust yourself to fit what they expect. Since you're here among writers - writers are very competitive, because they've invested a lot to learn the craft. They expect a lot from you as well, or you'll be...

Sure. It's a neat and clear idea. Not fantastically shot, though.

archived-videos Short Horror The Screen (Asian horror inspired short)

Thanks for this. It's nice to watch when there's so much attention to detail. If you'd had a TV set without a screen in the room, you could have had a second camera inside the TV and hid that camera with a fake frame in post. But that probably would be less charming.

    Inspiration for my first screenplay

Here's a discussion. I first thought of Cast Away. Then Back to the Future. Not sure... https://www.quora.com/Has-any-movie-been-made-in-which-the-lead-actor-is-in-every-single-scene

    Screenplay, Review My Work

Read four pages. It's rolling on, but would improve with less dialogue. 61 pages and when the editor leaves 15 pages of dialogue on the cutting room floor you land at 46. Half a movie.

archived-videos Schoon Genoeg (Well Done) - 48HFP Dark Comedy

Yeah, it's my personal favorite to complain about twist endings in general because I think I know better. But pretty smart of you Indietalk, the way you understood that their issue with their boss gave them motivation. That all went over my head. But it is a darn cool story element.

archived-videos Schoon Genoeg (Well Done) - 48HFP Dark Comedy

Intriguing. The winning film feels a tiny bit more solid and has a dog (always a winner), and watching their team, they feel very experienced. But I still like your more in that sens that where your film works, it's ahead of the winner. Yours is more composed. Loving the moment when both girls...

Yeeaaah, this is good. Started half way through wondering why it didn't do better in the competition. Probably because the ending is too unclear. But boy is the acting excellent and the music has the optimal tone.
