Round 3 - Rules & Details (Please Read)

Zen, I think you're in luck. The creative compensation package I offered the M-Man just wasn't good enough. His agent declined the offer, using language I won't repeat on a family-friendly web site. I don't think it was anatomically possible anyway.

Round 3 - Rules & Details (Please Read)

Am I the only one NOT submitting a black & white entry? Looks like it'll have to be better than all the others by at least 2 points. How's the project going? Great! - First pass at the script is done - need to trim it down to 5 minutes. - Constructed green screen studio in the garage...

Apparently that's the major feature for the next release.

I'll second that. I just got my copy of DV Rack and it's an incredible tool.

My film will beat your film!

Completed rough story outline; fitting this into 5 minutes looks like the first big hurdle. Built primary set in garage - may have to strike the whole thing if it snows again tonight as expected. Called around the get some talent lined up. Not bad for a few days, I'm pleased with the way...

For the Indie Filmmaker with no Cash

I built one of the $14 steadicams, too. It works pretty well. If you've got bad shoulders (hey, I'm old) it's good only for short durations. Building one with PVC might work and end up being lighter... I'll have to give that a try.

Round 3 - Rules & Details (Please Read)

Anyone in the greater Boston area that would like to collaborate, please PM me. I'm anxious to break in two spectacular pieces of software in this round: DV Rack and Ultra, both from Serious Magic.

My film will beat your film!

Yeah, when does it start? What are the rules? Are there any rules? Are they flexible? Can they be broken? Does the 757 eat its young? Where did I leave my keys? Spock, where's your beard? What kind of uniform is this? Where's my personal guard? Sorry - the caffeine is slowly wearing off...

Is filmmaking turning you into a fat ass?

I can't say that it's turned me into a fatass... I had a head start before I got into writing.

    favorite Your Favorite Weather

Living in New England, you don't really get a choice - you get it all, sometimes in the same day. I've had enough of the snow this year - another blizzard, another mild heart attack from shoveling. Zen - I'll scoop up as much as I can and mail it to you. My favorite weather, though, is a...

What would u like to see adapted as a movie?

I've always thought that Ayn Rand's classic, Atlas Shrugged, would make a great epic. Seeing what was done to The Fountainhead (I think it was the 40's) made me think twice, though.

    dialogue How Important is Dialogue?

Poke, I'd say that Clive has, once again, hit the nail on the head. Of course all that comes with the standard disclaimer that "your mileage may vary" because, as the creative force behind the script, you're the one best qualified to know when dialogue re-writes border on...

Good to see you back, Zen. Clive may have been presumptuous about your having made bail... I heard you beat the rap fair and square. Anyway, welcome back!
